On the subject of who's doing the social media. I seem to recall there was an article after the TH campaign that might have talked about the Warp people behind the ARG? Couldn't find it just now though

And thanks to Samurai Drifter for that accurate account of the Sheol piece. I'm kicking myself a bit for not documenting anything about the banner. If you randomly asked me before all this I think I would have said I don't remember what it is, though I definitely could have said the profile pic was scary Whitney. But over the last day I've either dug up or fabricated a memory that the banner was Pioneer even a year or more ago. Problem is I didn't know about the plaque so it wouldn't have been notable in that way. I can say for sure I have no memory of it being anything else. I can't think of another time my memory has been challenged in this way. And of course, regardless of how strong it is, there's no documented evidence.

I rewatched that Raiders deepfake again this morning - it's really goddamn funny. No idea if anyone from HS is responsible, but it's something else.

And yeah, when I was referring to this activity as a red herring, I really meant it in a Discordian sort of way - it's definitely activity that they have to know will stir their devoted fanbase, but it's also funny, chaotic and potentially meaningless. It may be leading up to something or may be breadcrumbs leading to nowhere - and that might be the point, until the next project is announced!

Exactly. Having just finished reading The Illuminatus Trilogy and dug into the history of Discordianism and Operation Mindfuck, I have to say this whole thing feels very much in the spirit of that legacy.

Filmmaker (featured on the Societas X Tape) released a Discordian concept album last year, Discordian Disco. It would be very interesting if it was a theme BoC returned to. Conspiracies were closely related to the Discordian movement and that was a major theme of Tomorrow's Harvest. It would also fit with the chemtrails in Marcus's Twitter banner.

Impossible to say though, I obviously have zero evidence for this. Just fun speculation.

As an aside (in other Warp news), been loving going through the old Seefeel albums with their boxset release today. The authechre remix of spangle is fantastic. Seeing these old lps/eps repressed with a bunch of unreleased tracks (released on labels other than Warp no less) does give some hope for them to do the same to the brothers one day.

I feel like there’s a better chance for a BOCset in recent years now that Warp has one big reissue campaign each year and the reissues get better packaging and better material each year (2021: Seefeel; 2020: Global Communication; 2019: WXAXRXP and Stereolab; 2017-18: B12; 2016: Autechre; 2015: Broadcast and even in 2013 we got the first Boards of Canada reissues after years of crazy resale prices!)

Since Covid showed up I haven't been doing anything in life besides work and listening or making music. this whole drama or whatever it is keeps me entertained every day. What the best part is most of all this is going on in our heads. We have so little actual info and so much possibilities. Keep speculating!

It is sort of strange, right? I mean, he was obviously a fan if he went to that show, and I can't imagine him casually saying to himself "oh yeah, I totally forgot that I recorded that set! I guess I should track that down?! "

That’s a good point. But old tech can do that to you—he may have lost the charger or the adapter and hadn’t been able to upload the video until now. He also may not have posted it to social media because it wasn’t as ubiquitous back then—or he may have been afraid of posting because of BOC’s security at the event. But with all of these sample sources and SXT tracks being discovered, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone gave him the OK to post the video.

Assuming this stuff even is them, which we don't know and won't till it's confirmed ( yes I've read all the stuff about how we know this or that is confirmed genuine, don't @ me ) it feels a bit like we're going so far out of our ways to even see this stuff in the first place I don't even know how useful it is to think about what it all means, why "they want us to see it". Like, I don't get the sense they even necessarily do.

I could be wrong. At some point it just feels like things are that well hidden it's not done as a game for us, it makes me uneasy. Ymmv
