Wow. Almost forgot twoism used to look like that.

IIRC I was the one who recommended mirroring that image of the bros next to the water that was at the bottom of the page. We were looking for a little symmetry and balance.

Cor, I did not know that. Perhaps when a release rolls around, we could put a custom banner on the index page like ol' times.

Vangelis just passed... surely... that is the most telling sign of all? His Blade Runner soundtrack is a masterpiece.

:(

Oh shit. I hope they pay tribute to him. Especially since they used a sample from him in Happy Cycling and mentioned Le Apocalypse de animales (or however you mention that in French) in an interview

Vangelis often used warm analog synths on his classic albums too and pioneered electronic music before IDM. They are definitely fans.

I haven't heard Blade Runner but I've heard people compare it to TH.

Oh no! Vangelis was brilliant, and Blade Runner is one of my favorite soundtracks ever. The best music to paint to.

Really? Vangelis? That shocks me.

Spiral is a fantastic record of his, almost proto-IDM in places. I'll be digging out my copy later, it's such gorgeous music.

My new guess is that they're waiting for Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 to run out of steam in 2025 before releasing anything.

They sound closer to any other post-punk band from Sammystown onwards, Stan's bizarre-o lyrics and Joe's crazy percussion really brought a lot to the table for them and made them stand out way more. Those songs you recommended are indeed pretty good though, I've got a soft spot for Big City as well.

Big thanks for recommending Plan 9 From Las Vegas too by the way, I'm only 2 tracks in but this is sounding like exactly my type of thing so far! I think I even like it better than Andy-era WoV already lmao
Something tells me BoC would probably dig this too

Funny you mention it as something BoC would like, since the wobbly bass in "Two Minutes til Lunch" always reminded me of "Statue of Liberty".

For sure, the original was certainly an impressive mix of talents, Joe being a favorite drummer of mine as well. If Paul and Ringo left The Beatles and were replaced, you'd probably have a decent band, but not the Beatles. I stick up for all the members :P . Todd in the shadows did an overview of the band (probably the most public attention they've gotten since then) and I don't think he even named any member other than Stan :? .

So how are we all feeling about the BoC activity as of late?

It feels like things are both speeding up and slowing down at the same time. The Twitter likes are definitely not as alarming as they used to be, they've been so direct with us that a lot of us have finally embraced the fact they have all but confirmed an album, so now we wait.

I feel like I'm not driven to look for hidden meanings or clues anymore, even Stargate isn't on my mind at this point. The waiting game is now the way it was before there was any activity, just pure, bland, boring waiting...

Not sure if controversial opinion but I believe BOC love their fanbase. There's probably a good reason why they can't release something everyday, but their Twitter likes are a way to slightly nudge things along til they're good and ready.

They've got a beautiful catalog so they're probably trying to release something that lives up to it. That's all there is.

KISS loves their fan base too... I mean, sure, everyone has a reason.

I do NOT think BOC has anything to do with reacting to their fan base.

They are independent

They do not care about WARP or Stargate and as far as I know, twitter and their "accounts" are run by some staff.

They are free, they always have been, they always will be.

To expect is foolish, to demand is deluded, to anticipate is vaporware...

Get out there... breathe fresh air, go out in the country, the forest, the field, the old decrepit end of town...

Obsessing is sick, it is the very disease they warned against.

When is the last time you told your mom you loved her, you dad that you trusted him and loved him, your loved one... your brethren, your kids...

Trust Me... do no wait.

Life it precious

time as immaterial as it is... is priceless

I love you all

Sheesh man. I was only trying to cheer up this thread. It really doesn't matter that much to me. They can quit tomorrow and they'll still be my favorite band. Relax.

Remind me to not post anything optimistic in this thread :P

That's more like it!

Don't even think about a new interview surfacing next Friday, followed by an album release a month later and then some very very private live playing of said album in the most beautiful places to the smallest audiences imaginable

...it's fun to dream

The private live playing will be using frequencies inaudible to the human ear. Just to make it more fun ;)

Wouldn't it be nice if BOC announced an album? Then we wouldn't have to wait so long...
