Have you seen em yet? Have you any thoughts on how they performed without fletcher? :)
(I don't know the US tour dates but according to their website it kicked off 23rd so maybe not as yet.)
Just saw them last night since their first stop was in my city. I can't say what they're like without Fletcher since this is the first time I've seen them live, but Gahan still displayed his usual rockstar frontmanship. There wasn't much in the way of tribute to Fletcher though, but World In My Eyes was dedicated to him with visuals of him in the background. They played something from just about every era of the band but sadly nothing from the Exciter album (their most overlooked album), I would have loved to hear "I Feel Loved" live, which is an all time favorite DM song of mine.

Considering the theme of "Memento Mori" ("Tu Fui, Ego Eris" for me), there was a strange catharsis to the experience, as I don't really anticipate going to any future concerts. As well as other darker feelings, but I'll leave that for now. Their music has been in the background for some of my lower points, so songs like "Walking in my Shoes", "A Question of Lust", "Wrong", and "Enjoy the Silence" all felt really powerful to hear live in that sense.

I'm indulging in your description, what I'd give to be there, or at any concert whence.
Today also marks Memento's release day, going to a music store tomorrow I'll add it to the only DM album I own at the moment (being Exciter). I've heard the rest of DM's discography digitally though, through various forms of YouTube and archive.org MP3 sharing.
I can't say much on catharsis but it'd be a big occasion for me to go to any live event as such. How that feeling feeds in would be dependant on the band and my mood.

I've missed out on so many opportunities to go to a live event, Flaming Lips in Leeds, 2021. Andy Shauf "Norm" tour date is a few months away and I still haven't booked, even though for my bleeding birthday I was in a record shop in my home city that were literally selling tickets for the concert and I completely forgot. :|

I'd like to be in that position! Forget my little laptop, I need to watch that on disc. Physical versions are like the best thing. Haw-yes. 8)

All right!! Here are some disc-covery's:

1. Buggie Wesseltoft - Moving (2001) (this might just be one of my best ever buys, from hearing the first track! Gawping.)

2. Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage (1965)

3. Unwed Sailor - The Faithful Anchor (2001)

4. Tony Scott - Music For Zen Meditation And Other Joys (1964-65)

Very excited for No. 4, picturing in-the-dark listening for it.

Trying to fly high! It took me a hot minute to find both of them but happy I did. It's Golden Week in Japan right now so it'll be a while before they ship, but it'll be worth it when they do. No rush in getting them here anyways.

I bumped into the three all encompassing Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex follow films, "The Laughing Man", "Individual Eleven" and "Solid State Society".
And get this!! It was 3 quid for the lot, that's a pound per disc. Got myself a trilogy of films for the rest of the week to delve into now. 8)
