Re; the reupload of Dayvan Cowboy, before anyone is angry at the rather naff AI upscale of it, I would say HOLD YOUR HORSES!!! to think how BoC have used AI before, like on the "I Feel Good" video using wombo.ai, and that case of a photo of Mike Sandison on instagram from a while back which had been heavily processed with AI. (The common non-obsessed BoC fan might not know about this so I understand any complaints)

So yeah they have used it before, and you might think at surface level that this is a poor show and you might be disappointed, like many in the comments of the video are, but I think this is some commentary, possibly on the broader use of AI to upscale SD media that has significant value to an audience. Daft Punk's Interstellar 5555 just got re-released in cinema's and there was upset as to how it was upscaled for the occasion. BoC's use could go a little deeper towards speaking on that.
Boards of Canada whether you like it or not, they dabble with Artificial Intelligence.

I do like how the AI made some shots really bad but while bad, also in a kind of surreal, trippy way, I'm talking more about the latter half of the video than the first.

Im thinking about numerology of this, since they have added edited invocation, and it totals at 6:00. Original track on CD is 5:00. Could it be a hint that a new album is not due to in 2025, but 2026? I know thats a far out theory, but Im trying to make something out of it, anything XDD

According to the timeline on https://bocpages.org/wiki/Timeline unless there is a spurt of activity soon, there will have been less social media activity on the official accounts this year than each of the years from 2020-2023 (which had been trending upward). If this activity were a stock we appear to be in a bear market.

This could change as there’s still some way to go in 2024 but… can it be that they’re playing tricks with this very graph? Since the recent YouTube video upload, the bars of the 3 most recent years are all multiples of ten, which looks rather funny.

Thats an interesting observation! It mimicks quantum mechanics in a way too, where observation of a particle affects the way it behaves. They could very much so be aware of what we are doing/thinking, and they are responding. But is that necessairly a trick, or maybe a way of saying "hey guys, its meaningless what we are doing here"?

Yeah, could be. That’s one way of looking at it. If they are indeed manipulating the graph it does sort of highlight the absurdity of cultish fans looking for patterns, while playing into it too.

As far as AI use goes this is one of the more benign ones but that said it does look distracting and janky, I'm sure it's possible to do better than that if they're going to do it at all

But like why bother in the first place?
