Let's speculate on certain sounds and samples.

Everything related to our favorite Scottish duo.

Mark Pritchard & Thom Yorke - “Gangsters” contains what sounds like a sample of the bass line in BOC’s “Aquarius”.

Great tune itself, as well. Have a listen and see if you hear what I’m referencing.

I'm very tempted to trawl through episodes of Blockbusters just to find the specific episodes they sampled in "Blockbusters" but:

A) Not every episode is readily available on the internet, and
B) There are over 1,000 episodes of Blockbusters, each over 30 minutes in length.

This isn't worth it, is it

Edit: I just did the math, that's roughly 20 days.
I wait, tense... then disappointed

I actually did do a search on an archive once, can't remember what I was using to narrow it down but probably the contestant names? Didn't find it. But that's not to say it can't be found, I either missed something or it wasn't listed on the particular archive I was looking at

I was showing some BoC tracks to my brother not long ago and he pointed out a similarity to another song.

Seven Forty Seven (timestamped to 1:18): https://youtu.be/oJw3pCeGR6U?si=HxMHkYKaKiQlAlbu&t=78

Katz Theme from Courage the Cowardly dog (timestamped to 0:43): https://youtu.be/oY2KnW19Tls?si=zZr6HSgkpbSyV8Kn&t=43

I don't think it's the exact sample source, but they might be the same hi-hat loop sample.

Not really about the samples, but in Hey Saturday Sun, when played backwards, the electric piano lead has a cadence that sounds a lot like pronouncing the words "hey saturday sun".

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but hear for yourself: https://youtu.be/K1OH4SP-WAM?t=96

just found out that the guy who found 9 samples in a row here is a notorious sample finder in the Caretaker discography, the same artist that does this: https://thecaretaker.bandcamp.com/track ... anglements

May he forget about The Caretaker and come back to BOC sample hunting.

I remember when you guys were teasing me for wanting "yellow" and "Just relax and enjoy this pleasant adventure" to be samples. He will prove I was right, it's just a matter of time, I believe in him.

https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxvCFsiZw9BX ... HHFaU6RvGk ...Did they watch The Saragossa Manuscript (1965)? Judge for yourselves but don't judge me too harshly. I was watching this film and immediately thought a sound effect sounded familiar in an early BOC way. It cued this song in my brain but I had to then search for it. On A Rolling Sea. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-odv_9MmT ... b2OgBwE%3D ...Not yet sold that it's a 1:1 match - their song obviously loops it as a cycle, moving up and down again, and it is processed (flanger?) and with a staccato more choppy/exaggerated. Does anyone at least hear why I/my brain connected the two...

This sounds really close to Opening the Mouth, but I haven't tried reconstructing it and it doesn't quite seem to be a 1:1 match, at least not without editing.
