Hold on now that text is WAY too small

Unironically they could make it larger if their intention is to make new fans who recognize the earlier posters but might be commuting at a distance

I thought that quote was so funny, too. Wasn't it during his livestream q+a? Does anyone remember him also saying or writing when asked about what Boards were doing, "Probably building the world's biggest bonfire" (inexact quote). And then we get "Inferno"... About bonfires, how would you feel about a BOC project, not this release but in the future, where they heavily remix, alter, distort and destroy some of their own works and sounds? It's possible that that's a part of their production process already but I mean mashing up song stems we all know and toying with fans' reverence for their catalog. I'd love to hear BOC remixes of BOC which is also what I think a live show could/would do.

Useless tidbit:

Number of hexagons in the new BoC logo: 7
Number of letters in Inferno: 7

He’s busy maintaining BOCpages and all the other social channels, and that takes a huge amount of dedication. It takes much time and energy keeping these spaces running, and I know it keeps him very busy.
Massive respect for all the work he puts into it!

For sure - thank you, Fredd-E!

Cheers!

I feel dumb that I didn't notice that! Nice!

So now we have:

- 7 hexagons
- 7th major release (arguably, if we count High Scores and Twosim)
- 7 deadly sins
- 7 letters in the title

I also just thought of these:

- 7 continents - Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia
- 7 oceans - Arctic, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, North Pacific, South Pacific, Indian, Southern
- 7 colours! [ROYGBIV] :D

P.S. Thank you, Fredd-E, for helping me recover my 6-years-inactive account!

Keep up the amazing work with that instagram page, I can tell people really love engaging with it, and for good reason. :)

The period before Tomorrow’s Harvest felt like this ramp upward that sped up increasingly. Inferno feels like I’m lost in a labyrinth at night, which seems aligned with the album thematically. The anticipation is a bit overwhelming right now…

And you know, I'm still holding onto the idea that the campaign for this album was designed to confront the BOC community with the 7 deadly sins. Maybe the kid who shared his dad's rare BOC CD on Reddit was a plant to provoke the community's wrath. Rare VHS Tapes: envy. One sold for $1000: greed. The response to Tape 05: lust. I don't know about sloth, but pride? Just look at all our theorizing and opinions! Lol!

Even though it seems like a more traditional approach compared to TH the ordering of everything feels like its own thing - intentional or not - and it’s been very effective and almost unsettling to me.

Gotta say that I really appreciate how this snippet of a BOC interview from 2000 aged in light of the new album:

Image

"One time we were out in the woods on a really wet day. My friend bet me I couldn't start a fire using only one match. But I managed to get this meagre little flame going in this damp little patch of ground. Then when we were about a mile down the road, we looked back and it was like, 'whoosh!' - the whole wood was on fire!" -Marcus Eoin

I am committed to my reading of ‘fern’ in Inferno, even if it isn’t intentional. Ferns, bonfires, the stone circle imagery…

If you go down the rabbit hole of Inferno being all about the seven here's what you can say

Seven is one step above hell, Inferno (69:51) is one step above geogaddi (66:06) and that should lead you to the obvious conclusion :
Spoiler: show
there is a missing 19(6+6+6+1)th track , either that lasts 7:16 to make it 77:07 or we already had it, the promo video itself that (strangely) lasts 0:42, to make it 70:33 (sixtyten:half devil)

I can't believe that Madonna wasn't trying to get them to produce her next album. William Orbit had done a fine job on Ray Of Light and as usual Madge was looking for the Next Big Thing.

Fortunately, the brothers refused the big cheque.

Yet another speculative read:

It is virtually impossible to live up to hype like this. Now I do not predict that Inferno will be bad, but if BOC were somehow to crash and burn with this album, well, that's a spectacle in and of itself

This degree of hype might not have been possible without the internet. The Internet is a modern bonfire/spectacle (not getting too fussed over the specifics of how I could word that better), but where the campfire evokes connection, the Internet has unprecedented power to polarize and disconnect
