I'm really intrigued by the fact that the credits so specifically say all tracks were written and produced by Mike Sandison and that Marcus Eoin is only credited as a performer. I can also see why they might be reluctant to do interviews this time around as that might lead to a lot of personal questions. Hope all is good in the camp

Agreed, and meant to say the same re: interviews! I can only imagine it would be a topic interviewers couldn't resist bringing up. Wish them both only the best!
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

Mike really seems to dominate the credits there. At least they’re going out of their way to create that impression which stands out from their otherwise restrained communication. Maybe they’re just living separate lives and BoC is more of a Mike project these days. I think he may have always been the dominant member though

Ive caught a couple vague posts on reddit since mid last week that the mods have removed of photos of stacks of the record or someone wearing the new yellow tee. It’s for sure arrived to some store owners and thats who uploaded the artwork to discogs. I wish I had it to chill with today. One more week

Might explain why there aren't any new press photos either. Perhaps it's much more of a distant working relationship nowadays, with Mike being the primary driving force behind the project?

According to bocpages, the first TH-era interview came out June 7, just three days before the album. So given that precedent, the absence of interviews/press photos doesn't strongly suggest there won't be any.

Could this mean a double album? Where Marcus wrote and produced his own with Mike getting performer credits? There were talks it seemed like more than one album was possible wayyyyy back when... *heavy breathing intensifies*
I AM GOD. THE ULTIMATE RESONANCE.

There are a lot of different 'me's, you know. There's the mad me, when I get angry.

Just received my dispatch confirmation email this afternoon. Same as you, I ordered red vinyl with shirt and also a cap, immediately after album announcement. Maybe check your emails ;)

No email, no nothing...

There were certainly no copies of Inferno being sold at the listening sessions, in any format. For the cassette, there were only tokens with unique codes to be used to place orders on Bleep.

Well, here's to hoping GZ Media didn't F up the vinyl pressing. The credit is that it was plated at GZ, but was it pressed there? GZ's QC is....not always the best.

Also, you are in the Inferno thread. Just use the spoiler tag if you're discussing songs so it doesn't turn into a sea of spoiler posts, please lol.

I also assume that users are largely ignoring this thread if they don't want to be spoiled.

I haven't received a bleep shipping notification but did get a mysterious FedEx one that couldn't be anything else. It says delivery Wednesday  . I could see a delay there with the state side holiday.

From the Scot review: the advance streaming link for Inferno states it is for an album called Helium by a band of the same name. Likewise Boards Of Canada album artwork generally poses more questions than it answers.

This intrigues me more than any of the build up, the first release that credits Mike on his own as the writer and producer of the music. I'll be interested to read an interview, if they do one, to see if they both do it, or will Mike go solo.

Not quite the first. The renamed Sometimes remix (The Protection of Happiness Generator) was also only credited to Mike.

Seems like Mike always was the core writer, see here and here. It'd be very interesting to read what their producing process was for Inferno though.

Hi everyone. I haven't been here for years but super excited for Inferno.
I have an image to post but I can't remember how to do that on this vintage system! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

mc10101, someone else might tell you an easier way, but what's worked for me is uploading the pic to imgbb.com, then copying/pasting the bb code here.

Careful, let's not do revisionist history. Marcus has always been credited with writing and producing until this album, and should not be thought of as having always occupied a support role to Mike. For example the track Gyroscope is almost entirely Marcus's creation based on interviews from the time.
