In the context of history, we live in an age of unparalleled science and rationality. But despite this, religion and ideas of mysticism – along with other fringe concerns such as conspiracy, etc – continue to thrive. I gather that you're rationalists, atheists, etc – but the idea of the mystic obviously has an appeal to you ...

I think there's a mistake somewhere: you sent me a video about the burden of proof, whereas I'm as clear as possible in my posts: I'm not claiming anything extraordinary because I regularly state that I don't know anything and that these are just personal interpretations; and I'm gathering correlations to try to detect a hypothetical underlying structure.

So, what does the burden of proof have to do with it?

On the other hand, one hypocrisy that has always astounded me about the "skeptics" who criticize alternative archaeology is when they say, regarding the numbers found in the Great Pyramid of Giza: "It's easy, seek and ye shall find: if you analyze any object with measurements, you'll always find correlations with numbers or constants."

The argument itself is perfectly valid. It was even humorously demonstrated on a French TV show in the 1970s. The problem is that some well-known French skeptics still use this excerpt as proof.

And it's a fallacious argument, because while you can always find numbers by manipulating any kind of measuring object... you never find an object like the Great Pyramid of Giza, which encodes all these numbers (Pi, Phi, c, the Earth's Precession, 1/137...) so many times with such precision.

So, this is what bothers me about the burden of proof argument: it's easy to find where believers or conspiracy theorists are raving and making peremptory claims without the slightest argument to support their thesis, but it's less easy to see that the official camp constantly uses a completely fallacious argument to prevent people from seeing the incredible magic of the Great Pyramid of Giza.


Llydia : thank you sister ♥, It means a lot what you say. You know, for years I've been speaking about all of that on the Internet, and even if I have some support from great people that I'm deeply grateful, my words are generally ignored.
But you know, you're maybe experiencing the same thing: if you've reached the point where you understand what I'm saying, then you probably talk about this kind of stuff regularly with those around you, and you feel the same way, I imagine.

The kind of loneliness felt by those who have begun to cross the threshold, in a world that willfully ignores this entire aspect of reality ^^

there was a time that i wouldn't have been able to resist going 20 pages deep dithering about on the frustrating combination of both politeness+self-doubt-as-armor (here's 30 paragraphs, but i'm not claiming to actually know anything) and leaning on the lack of proving the negative as strong suggestion of the positive

but i'm in my 30s now, who can bother

I know it's tiresome to read me regularly saying "I know nothing," but I believe it's necessary.

It's not just a pose; I truly believe that the many wise people who have repeated this thought of Socrates throughout history understood that the further we go in life, the more we're "doomed" to experience reversals of belief (beliefs that were fundamental, yet turned out to be false). Therefore, naturally, we tend to view our beliefs less as truths.

Look at Wittgenstein and Husserl, who pushed the analysis of what can be considered true and what constitutes belief to its extreme.

The phenomenon we constantly experience (consciousness, and therefore our sensations, thoughts, words, actions...) is the only thing we can be certain of (because it's the only thing we experience "firsthand").

But the problem remains: our cognitive biases, our mental representation of the world, the context, the state of our memory... all these elements inevitably alter the information we receive from experience.

In other words: even if we all constantly experience the reality (= direct experience of the truth), our brains only understand what they can; we transcribe it to other in our own way; those who listen to us understand what they can; and our memory modifies this recollection with each "mental review." This leads to a loss of information at each stage of this process of transmitting truth...

In short, all this to say that "I know nothing" because it's true, lol. The only way to know would be to transcend and become God on Earth, if such a thing is truly possible.

And by transcend, I don't mean "someone who has experienced awakening" as we see everywhere on the internet today; I'm talking about beings like Jesus or Buddha. And I don't get the impression that there are any today... At least, not among the general public.

Besides, look: given the nature of what I'm saying, how counterintuitive it is, I'd make a fool of myself immediately if I claimed to know anything! Even worse of that : people won't read. Because people who claims extraordinary things, stating they know the truth... frankly, this attitude is insufferable, and that completely discredits what they're saying. And we clearly don't see that behaviour only with religious people ^^

But thanks for your comment, I might do things differently: a disclaimer at the beginning/end of my texts, and the rest in "statements without specifying that I don't know" mode (so as not to overwhelm the readers).

You, on the other hand, have come to this thread about ten times, mostly to make derogatory and unsubstantiated remarks:

I've been around these parts for over 20 years now. In that time I have made quite a few boc-friends and met a ton of people from this community. You are not the first one that nose-dives into these geogaddi-induced numerological conspiracies finding patterns where there are none. Long-ass posts with tons of references to correlating numbers used to be a running joke here actually. You would also not be the first one that does so while not taking their prescribed medicines and have a mental breakdown. That is not to say that -will- happen, but I've seen it happen, to friends, more than once. This fandom can be like that too and I resent that part. Frankly it gives the music a bad taste in my mouth (not the band's fault obv.).

YES, BoC has said several times that fans go too far in making claims about the hidden meaning of their music and their work...

YES, BoC has said that humans are wired to detect patterns, and that you can make any symbol say anything, you can "read the Kabbalah..." and twist the meaning of a sentence to fit..., etc.

BUT: BoC has also admitted that they manipulate their listeners with advanced techniques (the term "P-Primer" seems to correspond to a psychological primer designed to induce a certain mental state), and that they leave subliminal messages and secret "arcane" messages...

AND : I have found a global picture that fits very well with BoC and much more.

So: BoC warns us that we shouldn't take our theories as truths; we can only speculate about them, try to decode their work, try to find meaning in it.

But they clearly invite us to do so, and unequivocally.

You fixate on what I'm saying, brandishing one or two sentences, but you forget all the other sentences from BoC, or work from BoC fans, that contradict your point of view.

And I already explained mine : if BoC are who I think they are, of course they won't say "We manipulate the listeners to elevate them toward God"...
