I'm convinced by my theory about BoC because it's based on numerous elements, some of which are quite strong (Atalanta Fugiens, Giraud’s Mirror & the Incal, 177, 496, 169—in short, everything that demonstrates consistency from beginning to end).
Do you know of any other artists who have such coherence in their work and who, on top of that, offer us « never heard elsewhere » music? Either we are dealing with possibly the greatest geniuses in history, or there is something else going on... or both ?

As for the interview excerpts you showed me, the problem remains the same, and it's already been addressed quite a few times now, so that's the last time I talk about this. Yes, your excerpts greatly weaken my theory, BUT other excerpts greatly strengthen it. So, what do we do? If BoC say "A" in one interview and "B" in another, there's obviously something to be understood. It's up to each of us to interpret what they meant. If we only retain the quotes that fit our own narrative, we're simply engaging in confirmation bias and cherry-picking.

All my interpretations should be taken with a grain of salt. But mathematical correlations don't lie, and neither do the accumulation of esoteric symbols (Atalanta Fugiens, 666 and Inferno tracklist & the "interrogation mark" from TCH²)… that’s why I’m so convinced.

I heard Disclosure Day was extremely mid and I would sure hope a dickwad director like Spielberg is not connected to boc. You know, I find it funny how tolerance works. I just finished reading the Gender thread in The Playground board, interesting read and was great to see so many supportive comments and general tolerance and understanding for the OP's situation.

But then I come into this thread and it's a very different story, HighLowView is just being himself, playing with numbers, reading (often far too deeply as he himself admits) into things, posting his thoughts and musings, explicitly stating that he concedes he may not be right about it all. And yet it feels like there's an intolerant, group mentality against him. Being told he needs therapy, to stop looking too deeply into things, generally being patronised and ridiculed and shut down, when really he's been nothing but courteous and kind and not been rude to a single person as far as I can see. And bravo to him for sticking the finger up and continuing to post btw. This is after all a discussion board, why are some discussions legitimate and others not?

Just an observation, but it's interesting how one persons self expression should be celebrated and another's should be unsung, often by the exact same people. Why can't we apply the same generosity and kindness to everyone? Or at the very least, just read and move on if it's not for you?

The amount of pages this thread alone speaks to how tolerable this forum is, and how legitimate this discussion is (though maybe not always in the way intended by OP). People are engaging with what he's saying. Most have very different opinions. Some strongly disagree with what he is saying. But he's posting it, I even read a lot of it.

Personally I'm a bit worried this kind of circular thinking can backfire into paranoid delusions. This particular brand of numberwang just hits a bit toooo close to home for me if you catch my drift, and I don't have to like it. I think calling the brothers "gods" is extremely troublesome so I can't support that personally and I will call it out. But I don't think he shouldn't be allowed to say it or face any repercussions for doing so. Is going "You sure about that? To me that sounds like a load of bull." intolerance?

I hear what you're saying though. I do regret saying he should get professional help, even if I think he should, that's not up to a rando like me. I did mean it with the best of intentions (professional psychological help saved me from a very slow death).

I think that started when he faced confrontation and so no doubt intended it to irritate. It's all good, we're all just die hard fans, it's sometimes just hard to know when too much analyzing is too much with BOC, but even when it's too much it doesn't merit derision (imo).
