Since I'll have a lot of time over the holidays to kill, I'm thinking I'll redo and rerecord some of my older tracks.

Mistaken feels really fun right now, and i love when it climaxes and the main beat comes in. really great feel to it, maybe my favorite of yours yet.

Breakdown is too digital for me, too much distortion/glitchy sounds, even though the beat is very cool.

I made a remix of a demo tune on FL (it was easy as all the parts were there)
Would it be OK if I put it on my Space? I think it might be copyrighted, but I dunno.

I'd go for it, just put FL demo remix in the title or something...doubt anyone would pull you up about it 8)

You've got such a huge amount of material, you could easily pull off great live sets if you added a dancier edge to your music. Mistaken was a big step in that direction...nice work up to a sweet groove...
Black then White are all I see in my infancy...Red and Yellow then came to me, reachin' out to me, lets me see...

Some great beats you've got on your Myspace by now. I'm honest when saying that I won't play this stuff often but I hear potential in the beatstructures, not the simple standard static stuff.

I loved the beats on the new one, but I didn't like the melodies as much. I think you're getting awesome at bringing in and out everything, the ways things grow and breath is amazing, but I just don't like the sounds of the melodies. They sound too much like a factory preset, but I think you create all your sounds, so I know that's probably not true. Probably my favorite one either way.

yeah I have the same problem with your melodies, all the instruments you use sound very childish and cheap...if you processed them a bit more they would probably fit better.

Maybe I want it to sound that way?
'Cause I'd never put up something that I wasn't completely happy with.
I've tried many many different instruments, but it seems those ones worked the best.

And to be honest Shadow, I use a lot of the instruments given in FL, but yeah, as you say, I usually change them until I make it different, into something that I could work with. For example I added distortion to nearly everything in Mistaken. ;)

Now this is where I'm a bit skeptical. You have made at least 100 tracks by now, and it seems like you churn them out at such a rapid pace without paying attention to adding fine details. That is why none of your tracks really sound up to par in this genre of music (over the top electronic fuckery music it may be called?). You may not be a perfectionist, but most of what you do lacks detail, so I can't think that you've spent that much time on each track. You are "completely happy" with every little bit of music you throw out there? Not to sound harsh, but I think it would make your music sound much better if you came up with more of a concept, an atmostphere, for each track and really added minute details to things.

See?
This is why I post up my music. To be harshly criticised!
Thanks Vord!

Anyway, the completely happy thing was a bit of a white lie.
Yeah, I'm happy with them, but I know I could do more.
I'm just lazy.
And plus, I don't really know what else I could do in terms of atmosphere.
More reverb?
Even MORE sounds in the background?

By atmosphere I mean more of an implied conceptual sort of thing...it is in part the way it sounds...but more a sense of a refined idea. I can't explain it too well...its a bit too late. But somehow one can easily tell when a track is in a heavily worked stage compared to a first thought, idea.

When something has been really worked hard on, you can tell, because nearly every second of the track sounds somehow...good. It sounds simple but that is what really makes a great track...along with form.

I can sorta see where you're coming from Vord.

Yeah Hills.
I'm just having fun with what I do.
I don't want it to be deadly serious or anything.
