BoC - Secret Weapon

Mods, I did a search, and did not find this topic. If it is a duplicate, please remove.

Any speculation on what the brothers "Secret Weapon" is? Is it actually a physical piece of equipment, or could it be a mindset, or something they live by? Or is the secret the fact that there is no secret!?

The way i see it,

Their either lying to sound cool or its probably some large peice of equipment that helped shape their sound when they were just starting out.

My bet is on some large mastering reel to reel tape machine.
I have also thought it could be a rotary speaker cabinate, I have heard that sound in some of their tunes.

Some of their interviews say that one of them is still using a vacume tube TV, could it just be that?

Perhaps its something so awesome that we are just physicaly incapable of even guessing what it could be

I'm with you about the old, possibly partially broken reel to reel tape machine. Or maybe some old analog synth, or sampler that has something quirky going on with it, making it a one of a kind.

If I'm not going crazy I think I do recall one of the brothers talking about installing a mic inside an old hand crank ice-cream making tub, I suppose for a home made type of rotary cabinet, or something of the sorts.

Haha, funny thread. I hadnt heard all thoes quotes from boc, and there I was thinking i'd read every interview

I bet their secret weapon is the reel-to-reels then.
or something reverb related, they always have beautifull reverbs on their tunes.
