Is that A Few Old Tunes i see in the corner???

you DO want the remixes.
surfaise, pin skeeling, prime audio soup are freakin amazing.
prime audio is such an awesome remix....oh man the subs!

The cassette clearly is AFOT ( Maybe a real one too?). You can make yourself easily a nice AFOT cassette too if you want to! And yeah, BoC-remixes kick some major ass. Get em!

edit: I feel ashamed for not taking the price stickers off the front. :(

I found those three by accident yesterday at the record store. Cool find.

Those were dirt cheap. My local store has a couple of boc cd's and they are all about 20€.

E: oh, used, well that explains it a bit :)

Yes, but they were in perfect condition. It was a good luck day.

I know, they fooled me ;)

No physical stuff at the moment, but I do have a shitload of FLAC and WAV rips, which quality wise are just as good.

Considering I have, as far as I know, the entire discography, when I acquire a lot of money to spare, I'm going to take like 1000 dollars, convert it into pounds and send it to Mike and Marcus.

I don't want some record company to take any of their well deserved money. This is the reason I don't buy official releases from any non-independent artist, because record companies are scum that are ruining music.

/rant xD

^ Yeah, but Warp is awesome.

I'm kidding, I understand what you mean. :D I Still absolutely love Warp records and would support them.

It's just the "big four" that are ruining music. There are plenty of really good independent labels like Warp, Ed Banger, Kranky, Fonal Records, Constellation, Ninja Tune Skam, Mo Wax, Morr Music, FatCat, Orange Twins, Stones Throw, Planet Mu, Compost Records, just to name a few of my favorites. To be honest I more than happy to support the label as well, sometimes even more than the artists themselves.

Plus even though I am one, I think 99% of indenendently released music is pure crap.

I disagree, but I respect your opinion.

Simply because, in my opinion no matter how "fair" labels are, I honestly believe that promoting music, which is supposed to be ART shouldn't be a business deal and the "producers", "publishers", etc. shouldn't get a cut of the money that I personally think should be on a donation basis in the first place.

I'd support a "music collective" of course, in fact I've worked with some, mostly online groups of artists that band together and promote each other's music via the website or samplers. The fact is though that the music made by those artists is usually completely free or "name your own price", which honestly are the only forms I think art, emotion invoking collected energy, should be sold for.

Not too many people know about my music, but even if I were to somehow become completely famous overnight, I'd still release my music for free with at most a little "donate via PayPal" button at the top of my page. I guess I might be one of the few people out there who doesn't see artistic endeavors as a primary career option.

There are some independent artists who whore out their music as well, although less prominent. Anyone who wants to charge album prices for some copies of 128kbps MP3's online is a cocksucker, regardless of their job and affiliation.

I can totally understand where you're coming from, I used to think the same exact way like two years ago or so. I even wrote an essay on the subject for a class.

The reason we disagree is that I don't think most music is really art, per se. Hell, I don't even really consider BoC's music to be art, though I'd say BoC comes pretty close. I agree that art shouldn't be marketed are done business with. But I don't everything needs to be art, it for me doesn't make it any less valuable or unenjoyable if it isn't.

The main problem with that way of thinking for me is that it is a pipe dream and that it only works over the internet. I love buying physical copies of albums, especially on vinyl. That wouldn't really be possible in that system, would it? Physical copies would have to cost some ammount as producing them isn't free.

With that said, of course I respect your opinion too, even though I do think it's a bit naive. But if that's what you're willing to fight for then all the luck to you ;)

I don't believe there's naivety in what I said at all, we just have different core beliefs. Of course I'd support you purchasing a physical copy, but the way I feel in that regard is exactly the same. You'd pay for the packaging/pressing costs and then donate however much you feel it is worth.

I know that method doesn't work as a "system", but that's because it isn't a system in my opinion, nor should it be. You certainly don't have to agree with me though.

And by the way, art is absolutely subjective. You can judge what and what not you see as art, and that's fine. It's what gives art a collective value. The way I tend to look at it is that all things created as "art" have a dynamic value, thus it is the quality of the art that is subjective. This is how I think most people probably feel, the main difference is that most people tend to set boundaries such as "what is art vs. what isn't" for the function of a judgement catalyst, when in fact they are still judging quality in the same way they would art, they just aren't referring to it as that.

I didn't mean to go off on a tangent here, just explaining my beliefs a bit further. xD

so i found out about a new records shop in the town 3 miles away from me. it sounded like just another records shop (i've found around 4 in the area), and i expected a bunch of 60's-90's albums (which i'm totally cool with, don't get me wrong).

imagine my fucking surprise when i see ratatat and
BATTLES - GLOSS DROP

SOMETHING BY FUCKING WARP
STILL IN WRAPPER
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT A PLACE THAT SELLS WARP ALBUMS i really freaked out

so if/when the BoC album drops (they also knew of BoC, which is a HUGE FUCKING PLUS), i'll actually be able to get the vinyl version.. :)

I want to order Twoism on CD but I have a few questions first:

1 - Where should I order it from?

2 - In addition, I want the version that is a black CD.

3 - I also want the sticker that comes with it.

4 - If i order it from BLEEP, would I get all of my wishes?

Thank you in advance!

I ordered mine from friend seller in other city of my country.
The blacksided CD comes to me in "good" condition, also it was previously used, but without sticker.
I think the better way is to buy what you need in local music shop in the place where you live...if it's possible :)

My good record store doesn't have Twoism...

I am so hesitant on buying twoism from anywhere because there is never any info from where im buying from.

Well, besides just the self-scrutiny of being a big BoC listener and having done so all for free through torrents, I was looking for a .flac rip of one very important album, and it seems all the non-private torrents (I'm not part of a private tracking community) were dead.

So here we are, my first physical BoC purchase.
Image

Got it for like 5 dollars from a small merchant on Amazon. It was "pre-owned" but in the sort of way that it was completely unopened and sealed without any stickers on it. I ordered it on June 9th, along with some new headphones.

Maybe this'll be the start of a huge collection to come. : )

What headphones did you pick up?
