To pass the time between now and Inferno, I'm reading as much Twoism as I can, including going back into the first new release speculation thread, 1180 pages(!), October 2010 to December 2024, particularly interested in April 2013 flashbacks... Just skimming the messages, digging and digging, puts into perspective how this album's release, fair or not fair, will arrive with this massive shape of negative space behind and around it. Is it even realistic to hear this new material without that sea of stored nervous energy and "aged like wine" expectancy in the same room? It'll be there and gigantic. It's probably going to be the most trite element of every review of the music, and I know I'm just stating the obvious but I don't know if it can be overstated or what other suspense+surprise to compare it to. And for a while still, the waiting is all I have to focus on. That and meticulously refining my collection, soaking up the excitement, hopefully creating something new like a mix or new video.

I read through all of my old posts from April 2013, everything felt so much more innocent then, and it was endearing to revisit the dynamics around all of our reactions to Tomorrow’s Harvest.

I'm still curious as to why 'REGISTER FOR FIRST ACCESS' is still the main call-to-action on their website.

The pre-orders went live, the listening parties sold out, yet it's still there... and I guess none of us have really had 'first access' to anything yet, so something else must be on the horizon, right?

It almost feels like they're slowly unveiling two projects at the same time.

Perhaps the bocset? They're still adding Old Tunes material to their current YouTube playlist, after all. Maybe 'Tape 05' is old unreleased BoC, rather than an Inferno track?

It makes sense that a new album comes first as, after 13 years, it has more of a widespread impact than archival material, but there's no reason why they can't start planting the seeds for this fabled set.

It does feel like a possible bait & switch, like there may be a box set announcement soon. If I'm being conspiratorial, I'd guess maybe they'll announce something new each month, as the original tape "infomercial" stated. Or nothing could happen!

Just for fun, I reversed and filtered the end section of Tape05...Does anyone else hear a man screaming at one point? Sounds like a very 70s/80s horror movie scream. I'd love to post the audio here if I can figure out how...

I like this track you’re both on… there is a question mark here. I think Tape 05 was released as a kind of invocation in itself.

Could function well as both, and if that turns out to be the ambiguous space they're playing in then all the better for the rollout of this new activity.

If you look at the two new YouTube videos, one is Inferno (album title) and the other is Tape 05 (not an explicit track title on Inferno, so maybe another release title?) I still maintain that a release called Tape 05 could fit into the arc of old tunes 1, old tunes 2, R35TT, and BOC Maxima as a fifth tape of unreleased material in that vein (so different from the pre-twoism albums and so on). One can hope!

I’m feeling that tape 05 is for something else. The video with tape 05 and vhs are all similar.

The posters and art work for inferno are quite distinct from the above. That teaser video directly references the new album and is similar visually, not as much with the vhs et al.

I wouldn’t be surprised if tape 05 doesn’t show up on the new album and it leads to more speculation. It’s not in the track listings in it’s current form. I guess when the listening parties happen we will have more of an idea.

I like your thinking (and I hope it's accurate), but unfortunately I think this was probs generic web dev copy for the email newsletter sign up process.

Sick Times, just before Collapse. Boy did they nail it.

Only issue is that Palace Posy (Apocalypse) is next.

I'm with llydia - the apocalypse has already happened that's why we're now getting Inferno. lol

This is certainly a possibility, however it's also worth bearing in mind that the standard Warp language is usually "Register for Updates". The BoC CTA seems quite unique in that regard.

I had a dream a few nights back that Inferno was given a “surprise double release” which was an ASCII art teaser for the BoCSet in the shape of a setting hexagon sun. Obviously the dream was just wishful thinking, but it gave way to a humorous idea: since Inferno is the album with the longest amount of time between releases, what if the next album has a ridiculously short amount of wait time after this one? It’s not realistic but that would be hilarious.
