remember how i talked about Percy being old and how worried I was about losing him?

well, he's dead. he had a fatal kidney stone episode near the end of September and i was the only one around. luckily i noticed he was in pain and took him to the pet hospital before i went to work. by the time my shift was over, all the vets had agreed that there was no possible way to save him and the best thing we could do was cut it short. he died in my arms, like i had hoped, but much too soon. he will be missed forever. best cat in the universe.

sorry to hear that, man :(
still, better to be humane rather than keeping him in pain
he did indeed sound like an awesome cat

This is Monty Chin. We rescued him from a shelter, he had a hernia when he was a baby and received surgery right before we got him, he is sooooo needy though! He fallows you around the house like a dog and can say Mom.. lol. He is now 2 yrs.

This is Miss Murray Sparkles. She came from my Wife's Sister's Cat. They had a big litter, so we took her in. She is 3. She is a Tortoise shell, and has mass attitude!

My kitty, Beans (she's also called JG Wentworth, Roxi, Puff and Puffster lol)
I got to take a visit home this weekend and see her. She makes me feel carefree.

Thanks!

My favorite thing about her, is she gets these really strange fits of deranged behavior. Totally random, she'll just jump off the walls and make the most bizarre sound that's sorta half-meow, half-shriek, half-man gargling water, and she always just does it randomly when nobody's watching. So I'll be sitting in my room and randomly hear "meowraralarglerow" and a bang on the wall, as she sprints down the hallway pouncing from wall to wall 4 feet in the air. It's the funniest thing!

Sometimes I catch her in the act, and I end up laughing forever. I hope to get it on video someday...

Last night, our cat Mia (see previous thread page) yowled from the bathroom in the sort of way that was meant to catch our attention.

My girlfriend and I walked into the bathroom just in time to witness Mia sitting in the sink, happily peeing away. She looked really pleased with herself, glanced up at us (all squinty like) and perted happily, wholly expecting us to be pleased as well.

I think she had a kitty epiphone and thought we're all meant to urinate in porcelain bowls, rather than sand, and that since our porcelain bowl was too big, the smaller one must have been for her.

But, alas...she didn't get it quite right. Kitty fail. :(

Indeed he does! Cool.

I'm nursing Jefta now by the way.
He got hit by a car 4 weeks ago and broke his hip joint on 2 places. He was in a lot of pain, but is doing a little better now. He probably will be paralyzed on one of his legs because of the accident.
I'm worried this will not recover.. If not, I don't know what to do. He's so depressed right now. If he can't walk properly, it will definitly make him unhappy. What can I do? Any tips guys? It's hard to see him like this.....

Thanks man! Catnip is a good idea. It always had a huge effect on him. Made him speedy. Maybe it will make em happy, and will make him start to move his paralyzed foot again.

And I'm sorry to hear that your cat died man. Good thing you were with em while it happend. All the best with it!

After 8 weeks of rest our cat Jefta didn't recover from it's injuries, and still was in a lot of pain. The fractures didn't heal at all..
The only option left was to amputate his leg.. And even after that, the changes of him recovering from his fractures in his hip joint were slim. My wife and I had a long talk about it together ,and with the vet, and we decided to let him go.. It was one of the hardest decision I ever made..

Jefta was a proud male cat, a hunter, who brought us home so many killed little animals (frogs, mice, dragonflies), to show his affection. Jefta was outside 90 % of the time, drifting. It was killing to see him in so much pain, and not being able to move. Amputating his leg, with slim changes of recovering, and with a long recovering time after this surgery combined with the already 8 weeks of recovery and pain eventually made us decide this. The last 2 weeks of his life, Jefta was depressed, sad, and 3 legs would made him even more sad. He was only 4 years old, way to young. But it was time to make an end to his pain. This was the only fair option..

This monday, he got the fatal injection at the vet. He went peacefull, I stayed with him till the end. It was so emotional, so painfull. I feel so broken, so lost, so empty without him. It's unbelievalbe how much I got attached to him. My wife and I shed so many tears these days. We're both so sad. When will this pain get any easier to deal with?

Jefta, rest in peace boy. You can't be missed..

UGH! Man, sorry to hear that! We had to put our Cat of 16 years down a couple of years ago. It really sucked, a lot. We were sad for a long time, he meant everything to my Wife... We loved him so much. I know what you're going through... It took a while but we have pictures and video of him and all that good stuff to remember him by! We adopted another little guy to keep our other company, we love him just as much. Peace.

Thanks Polar!
Sorry to hear you guys got through the same thing.
Although there will be always times when we have to say goodbye to these lovely creatures, it doesn't weigh up to positive part of it.
The friendship between animals (in my case cats) is very special and beautiful.

And yeah, I have a lot of pictures and video's too. It's hard to look at them right now, but I think it will be easier the next months.

My friend Pat got a little kitten and named it Tweak. I thought "what a stupid name!" and then I started playing with it a little bit and gave it it's little catnip toy. It literally bounced off all four walls of the room in a fraction of a second and opened a wormhole in the ceiling, which it got sucked into and then landed on my face. Tweak is a good name for that cat.
