No magic.. This is abstract music without (clear) vocals/lyrics and the sounds are distorted/unclear at both speeds. With any speed this music is played on it can be interpreted as a correct sounding song.

Hmm...I initially thought this was going to explain where all of those old promos suddenly came from, like the discovery of an old Warp vault underneath a paleolithic standing stone in Cornwall. ....anyone actually know how these re-surfaced?

I worked out that you slow it down to 73% of the original or by 4 semi tones.
Its equivelant of going from 45rpm to 33prm.

[edit:]

Just listened to it now, I think I like it better slowed down.

[edit 2:]

You can almost make out the voices at the end of the tune now.

Ok, it's being played at 33 1/3 RPM, have a listen! It is meant to be played at 45 RPM. So it slows it down when playing it at 33 1/3 RPM, the supposed original length.

How does nobody get how this is done? Just turn that speed selector on yr turntable to a different setting, and voila..this surprises me. When I first started listening to vinyl back in the early days of high school, I discovered this by accident when I played some Pink Floyd album when the speed was set to 45rpm..lol
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

Not everyone has a turntable, I would imagine a lot of young people haven't even touched a record, haha... But, Indeed it IS a simple thing to do, just switch the speed and there ya go. It's all good.

But this would only work on the promo as the speed for the Geogaddi LP is already at 33 rpm. I guess the point is that if you had the promo before Geogaddi's release you might have played it at 33 rpm because you wouldn't know what speed it was supposed to be at. Only after the album came out would you know of the faster version (unless you played it at both speed to begin with).

I think it sounds more organic at 33 RPM but it was definitely inteded for 45 RPM IMO
