Well i wish they would just tell us what it is. I for one am getting a bit annoyed now.

I hope BOC read this forum and i would like to make them aware that lots of BOC fans would give their left nut to see them live and if that's what this message refers to, then we would appreciate some notice so that we can arrange time off work and travel etc. I don't know about anyone else but i can't afford to book time off work on just a suspicion that BOC might be playing live. If i suddenly find out a few days beforehand that this is a live event and can't go i will be mightily fucked off like i've never been fucked off before.

On second thoughts it could be on the DVD. That way people buying vinyl will get a chance too.

I'm frustrated too. I've had to tell some good friends they can't come visting that weekend after all as I'm might be going up to Scotland. Or then again I might not. I feel like a right tit but the idea of mising out is too much.

It's irritating. :x

does anybody know anyone at WARP? They will know for sure what the deal is, especially if it is a live event, as they are usually done with WARP's backing. I sent an email to their general enquiry address, but never normally get replies from that.

The thing that bugs me is that it has a date that is nothing to do with the EP release date, and it is a Saturday (no new releases ever come out on that day), so it has to be a live event. It can't be the fact that it is England's first game of the World Cup because they are Scottish!

It could be a webcast or radio appearnce, doesn't have to be live although I think the red moon and secrecy thing means it is live.

Perhaps the message resolves in to "Come on Trinadad and Tobago!" :D

how'd you make that out?
also i think it could be a code to get into the ep for some pixs or more info on them or maybe just one extra hidden track.
since there is no red moon on that date. it also could be as was said a radio interview or mix show or something like that.
after all it is there first video ever... big thing for them.

Whoops, alright "come on Paraguay!" then.

I guess it's too hard to get a full moon on the right date and as a for a red moon, well that's just plain unpredictable. If it was radio thing why the secrecy? Why not advertise the fact. That would be a promotional event so keeping it secret would be pointless. Plus why put up a fiendish code to tell us about something we'll find out about and listen to anyway. It's a bit of an over the top thing to do for a radio appearance. Maybe a webcast but again people will record it and it'll be nothing special after a weke or so.

Not sure how the video relates to this other than doing more promotion.

No link, only a friend working for that online record store. Most of the time record dealers have reliable informations, but they only know what labels and distributors tell them... So don't get too excited (or too disapointed) by this basic commercial explanation...

Right,

Sounds promising though - I mean, why make it up? I'll ask my man on the inside if his distro knows anything...

Here's my latest speculation: going along with the theory that the code might unlock something on the DVD, perhaps it unlocks an additional video. And maybe that video is of a Red Moon Party? Probably too simple, but you never know. Only a few weeks more to go...

I was thinking along the same lines today. A 5 minute video seems kind of a waste to print out thousands of copies for. Maybe if you let DC play after it's done there's like a secret hidden video or something? That thought really has nothing to do with Red Moon, but something to think about nevertheless.

If that does happen then I'm going to be scowling in BOCs general direction for the rest of the month. :x

For now though I'm keeping hope alive. :D

There was that Nus Nogaxeh post... :?

I'm sorry man but Mike and Marcus have taken this mystery thing to stupid extremes and I'm tired of it. I mean putting a secret code on a hidden page. Give me a freaking break. I know someone in advertising and they have worked on commercials for Halo 2 and some Speilberg trailers and there are hidden codes in there too that they put in subliminally and people just waste their time tracking down something for no reason. It's just another form of mind control. I hope Mike and Marcus do read this post. Guys just like anything else, something that starts off as a seemingly interesting gimmick becomes overkill and pretentious over time. Don't put your trust in hypnotism, numerology, secret messages, or whatever. All that stuff will pass away.

I'm tired too, and don't get me wrong, I've got a really cool outdoor music event to go to on that night so if this is all a fools errand/wild goose chase/load of bullshit then I'll go to that and have a great night.

But, I think with the red moon and date thing there's something to this. If they just wanted to yank the chain they could have put a code and nothing else. As it is they're waving a treat in front of our noses and daring us to respond.

If it's all a joke/waste of time then I will be pissed off and write to them to explain what I think off them in no uncertain terms because deliberately inticing fans into wasting time on something they would never solve is a cheap trick.

Fingers crossed.

I found the "red moon party" picture a few weeks ago, and I have been following the discussion regarding "rm.jpg" on this board and WATMM since Fredd-E over at the BoC pages clued me in.

I have been looking around the official BoC page for "clues" and I think I've found something new, but I'm not sure what to make of it.

I've been looking at the source HTML for the pages on BoC's site. While looking at the HTML for the discography page, I noticed that there are actually two shockwave audio samples playing in the background. http://www.boardsofcanada.com/audio/06m.swf is the "melody" with the bass line. Simultaneously, http://www.boardsofcanada.com/audio/06f.swf is playing (which is ~55 seconds of a high pitched noise).

Now, I don't know if I'm just being retarded, but the 06f.swf sample kind of sounds like a modem carrier signal, doesn't it? Even if it isn't, why would BoC (and/or their webmaster) find it necessary to separate the two loops? They aren't even the same length. Maybe this is significant, maybe not. But I figured it was interesting enough to add to the discussion.

Maybe someone with better audio manipulation skills than I could take a listen and tell us what they think.

To me it sounds like the kind of noise you get in a rain forest with all the birds and animals.

dont mean to sound like an ass, but i took these from the site a few weeks ago. i tried to do things with them, reverse, slow them down etc, but to no avail. so they are just samples for the site. nice samples have to say.

to be honest i'm sick of them beating around the bush, completely sick of it.
why can't they just be straightforward with their fans and announce gigs like the rest of the normal ppl?
it's a fucking shambles if you ask me.
