Not sure about the rest of the top 5, but Ataronchronon has been a steady #1 for quite a while now.

my definitive five:

northern plastics (no one ever mentions this song. why?)
olson (obviously)
carcan
constants are changing
kaini industries / bocuma

this actually took me a wee bit of time to settle on. but i've been thinking about their beatless interludes for a while now. these are some of my favorite boards of canada songs.[/i]

northern plastics is a fab tune! very majestic sounding, always makes me think of sunrise viewed from an oilrig...or something...
I'd have to agree with you on the interludes...they're fantastic pieces of music in their own right.

Yes, I agree!

Just the other day I made two iTunes-playlists contaning only Geogaddi tracks.
One half contained all the interludes (the tracks that were less than 2 minutes long)
and the other contained all the 'real' tracks.

I ended up liking the 'interlude-playlist' more. :)

hey what about A is to B as B is to C?? This is one of my all time favs. The start feels like I'm taking a dip in a pond of acid. That phasing sample at the end makes me audiogasm every time

If you don't have the dik sometime, then the art is not about human race. Then is not art. This my theory.
