Completely agree. Is it bad that when I first heard the news my reaction wasn't "oh no" but "wow, does BoC work for BP?"

I'm going to go there and listen to Geogaddi until I transcend.

welcome dude. thank you for resurrecting this thread without any flamebait.

Deepwater Horizon definitely does remind of BoC, it's "natural" and "ominous".

Oh, and I'm sorry because I don't mean to bring this back up again, but I do feel it important to say...

How come he didn't get flamed? (sorry to use you as a reference  )

Totally a fair point. Why didn't I get flamed? my comment wasn't funny, nor was it serious. It was just inane stupidity on my part, and I stand behind it cuz I still find it humorous. People need to step off of Polar Sky's dick, he's a cool guy and has been here providing one of those awesome irreplaceable twoism voices for many years now. All newcomers are welcome but can i just say something? STOP TRYING TO MOLD THE FORUM TO YOUR IDEA OF WHAT YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE LIKE. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE VIBE, VACATE THE PROXIMITY AND START YOUR OWN GROOVE.

woah woah woah. let's not start this thread up with this stuff again. it got all nice and peaceful-like for a post or two and that was nice.

i always see BoC titles in the names of places. i imagine what a track would be like that could bring me back to memories of this place, a mountain or a town or a field. etc etc.

my reaction as well - that strange undersea footage of oil billowing into the ocean also reminded me of them.

On a sidenote, slightly off the topic, the thing that really makes be think of BoC's music is certain buildings and structures - for some reason large concrete, not especially attractive 50's, 60's or 70's public buildings or eastern bloc architecture. Preferably with odd murals on the sides and those grids of little opaque windows.

For me, whenever I hear boc, I think of being in an oil refinery, or any industrial looking place... also, a random place I usually picture is on an empty autobahn highway, looking towards oil storage tanks... something like this:

Mr. Tekmo.... On a regular base I read these bits. Yes hoping there's some thrustfull info on an eventual future release of one of my favorite bands. The info I hope for comes once every few years and now and than I'm triggered by less informative or less trustworthy material. But in the meantime I behold the discussions of human kind about behaviour on the internet, dreams of how unexisting records would sound like, people come up with songtitels or they've emailed with the brother of the mother of the guy who once nearly ran over one of the brothers whilst driving the spouse to the delivery unit at the nearest hospital... And the sauce over all this is jokes. Some good some boring, depending as much on the 'joker' as on the 'joked' or 'jokey' or should I say the one joked too rather than upon. On a regular base I find myself (mostly after hard working days) laughing out loud for somehting someone wrote, not even allways intended as a joke.
Whatever.
You know what this place is like, so you should realise you created the next test to not-react-to-this-topic-test. And I guarantee you I fail bigtime

We're all (nearly) adults. If you really don't like your spinach put it on the side of your plate and shut the **** up about it. But I should advise you: spinach is good for you.

Man, I gotta say, the link in your signature is awesome. Those photos are priceless. Abandoned Nuclear Soviet Lighthouse seems pretty BoC as well, I could see elements of that working its way into one of the Old Tunes titles.

The word 'Chetek' gives me that sort of vibe, its the name of a prettysmall laketown in Wisconsin where my parents frequent.

Along the Pacific Coast here in Washington you can't through a rock without hitting a place like that. You would be in BoC ecstasy here.

A few tracknames from Elve's Infinite Garden remind me of BoC:

- Mozaic Rain
- Sunshine Windmill
- Mycelium Dawn
- Sycamore Breeze
- Summerset Hill

They shouldn't have names for any new tracks. An album title and numbers kinda like the random35track what have you (even though im sure they DO have names)
