Ironic we're all excited over a Black Box, and the new material is anything BUT Right on Time. (Little school of '92 joke for you there, I'll be here all night, try the fish etc.)

How long will this black square nonsense go on? Will it be over by the end of April? Will it end in May?

Will it end only when a certain number of tears are collected and fed to the Sandisons?

Who knows!

I don't know but this new Panda Bear album is definitely filling the void for now.

i love AC, doesn't surprice me that BOC fans dig them as well. Similar focus on depth and atmospherics (even though the similarities pretty much end there). Panda's solo stuff is also incredible (Comfy in Nautica, what a track)

I saw them in London and few summers ago and they were amazing, but it was memorable for the fact i took my wife and she hated it and still talks about "That wierd band you took me to". No accounting for taste.

They played Leaf House and Who could win a rabbit from Sung Tongs, probably 2 of their best.

i remember seeing animal collective play the carling stage back in 2006. all my friends deserted me to watch pearl jam. i had pre rolled a few joints and happily immersed themselves in their terrific set. i've never been able to connect with their records though...perhaps i just haven't found the right location to listen to them.

Thanks. Felt a bit silly leaving it as it was. Clearly, this is much more sensible :?

Am I the only one who thought "oh! The new album is called 'Son of General Spec!' That's an odd name...Oh. Ohhhh." ?

I'm going to go there and listen to Geogaddi until I transcend.

Because this thread seems to have lost its meaning, I'll just say this here.

I now realize why I love the MHTRTC album cover so much.

My dad used to play this and their other albums a lot when I was a kid.

Nice! Didn't know about that cover at all but I can see the relevance :) Gonna get that album for sure.

Son of General Spec... hmmm...

All right, you guys want a prediction? Here's mine (at least this would be really cool).
Perhaps BoC have been working with an animation studio to create an epic feature length cartoon akin to Yellow Submarine. It would be 10x trippier with strange characters and would be in the style of Heinz Eidelmann. BoC would compose 8 songs with guest singers, as well as a good helping of incidental music.
It would be called "Boards of Canada: Adventures in Bocland". And if they aren't, I lay claim to the idea, in writing right here for the whole internet to see. Note the posted date. Nobody steal this idea from me, it's actually something I'd like to do.

By god I hope it would be an idea.

If not, there would be no meaning to our existence.

Mexicola could you please also add the term twaddle to the title. That would be great of you thanks.

A clearance in a wooded area, you startle a deer, it runs into the pines. Vast turquoise lakes and icy rivers, crisp mountain air. A bald eagle soars above. The distant sound of a chainsaw. Redwood smoke
