Yep, pretty good movie in that sense! Not really like one of my favorites but as far as the style/concept goes it's pretty well pulled off.

I like about a week ago saw The Killings At Outpost Zeta for the first time. I wasn't really expecting it to be good at all but I must say I was suprised. For whatever reason it's really immersive, I can't say it's well written by any traditional standards but I was just captivated by the atmosphere. Also towards the end it just got SO emotional and moving. I mean, sure, it's a bad movie, kinda. But I'm just a big fan of all sort of lofi / low budget productions (partly the same reason why I love boc too). This movie is just so sincere and honest, just like boc's music. It feels so genuine. I don't really care about the quality of the movie, all I care is whether the movie moves me emotionally. Everyone who says this movie sucks doesn't have a soul.

Easily in my top 5! I was blown away the first time I saw it, it's incredibly immersive and the cinematography is sublime. A perfect sci-fi film imo. ^^

Watched Star Wars Episodes 1-3 with my 4 year old son (we already watched 4-6 about a month ago). He knows Anakin and Obi Wan through the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network so he automatically loved these where it took him a couple of wathces to like the previous 3.

Anywho... During the scene in Episode 3 where Mace Windu and Palpatine are fighting, my son was all hyped when Mace took him down. And the look on Liam's face when Anakin turned to the darkside sunk me like a stone... he had so much sadness in his eyes when that happened.

Then when Anakin and Obi Wan had their fight, Liam Teared up and asked me "Why are they fighting? They're friends!" Again, I sunk like a stone. Then when Anakin was on the slab gettin' worked on and the mask comes down and locked in and Vader let out his first breath... my son yelled out "YEEAAEEEUUUGH!" and I broked down again.

So watching Star Wars with my son is the last movie that moved me.

Some people really don't like this movie. I think it's fantastic. I really like DiCaprio as an actor. He was amazing in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Shutter Island, and Inception.

There are moments in Star Wars that still get to me. I'm a full grown adult woman. Those movies changed my life. My father took me out of 2nd grade opening day of Star Wars and took me to the 2nd showing at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. THE THEATER that was in all the news stories about the lines around the block. I knew I had found my religion.. the stuff that eluded me in church. God finally made sense. I can probably credit those movies with how I became a chinese medical practitioner.

South Korean cinema has upped the ante during the last decade.

Kim Ji-woon is brilliant. After my initial exposure with A Tale of Two Sisters, I followed his every release since 2003.

He delivered every time: A Bittersweet Life, The Good, the Bad, the Weird, and most recently, I had the pleasure of watching I Saw the Devil.



After the brutal murder of his pregnant fiancé, Kim Soo-hyeon (Lee Byung-hun), a secret agent, turns vigilante in his pursuit to find the serial killer (Choi Min-sik, the lead in Oldboy) who mutilated his lover.

The plot seems generic enough, but the execution was brilliant. I was enthralled at the very beginning. However, if you tend to be squeamish, I wouldn't suggest watching this particular film. It is most certainly a candid examination of the psychology behind violence, aided by numerous scenes that don't hold back. If you are familiar with the body of work of Austrian director Michael Haneke, particularly with Caché, a similar procurement of strange and bleak emotions will easily surface as the plot unfolds.

Highly recommended!

I'm so happy that Leonard DiCaprio has finally started gaining respect for an actor and not just "the dude that was in the one about the sinking ship and the one with the fat bitch." Shutter Island and Inception were both mindblowing movies with great performances from him.

Titanic gets me every time. "Jack...Jack wake up.." Oh my God, give me a bucket to put my tears in or I will flood whatever fucking room I'm in. Haha
