My intention was not to say that BoC is the creator of lofi or owner of lofi sound, that would be very unwise and trollish. Dunno if the poster who posted that track under BoCs name did the track, or is it someones else track and this youtube fella is just using it for trolling. I would like to hear more of that stuff, hopefully under the creators real name/alias.
Oh ok yeah, but that's a whole another subject and not what I meant, and not what I thought you originally were talking about. I too would like to hear more of the original artist, whoever he/she is

Haha nice one

Hopefully someday we will hear who is this mysteryman/woman/transgender/humanoid/alien who is behind this fake BoC.

Dr Dre fans know the exact feelings BoC fans have right now...
Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.
Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…

I've been playing The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and the soundtrack is beautiful. But this one track in particular is my favorite, and there seems to be something BoC-ish to me about it. I think it's the instrumentation, and some of the harmonies.

Is it just me? Sort of sounds like something that could be on Old Tunes.

omg its so awesome. I love the music from the classic zelda games, runescape, witches...blah blah blah. All of those old video game sounding tracks. So nostalgic.
yes, this absolutely sounds like BoC. Makes me believe that BoC had the same influence

It'll be released somewhere between now, and seventy years from now.

BoC: FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE!
Which as it currently seems, will happen at any rate here.

If they decide not to release anything anymore then I think they would be kind enough to let the fans know this.. right?
So I guess there will be more in the future. But on the other hand, maybe they are in a mid life crisis and they just can't make up their minds.

Wrong. They haven't said anything in nearly 6 years. Why would they suddenly break their
Epic Silence to give us bad news?

this. also, t-shirt and back catalogue sales along with royalties from adverts must be keeping them in money. i would love to know figures of just how many of each album they have sold.

Cmon, the bros seem like considerate lads in their interviews. I'm sure if they had plans to cease boards of canada they would let us know, it would be rude to leave fans waiting in futility. I'm sure something cool will come out soon.

Most definitely not BoC, but it could be, sweet track in any case.
I agree!! I love it! It has a good atmosphere.
The fun thing is. If it would be BoC for real, then suddenly much more people would like it...
My question is who would make a track as great as this and not want to own up to making it? Why give a famous band or anyone for that matter credit for something you spent time making?
someone's operating the apparatus, operating it at a higher voltage then ever before

BOC's site says very little but it at least says NOW. That's alive enough for me. Then there is that Canada day release, labelled as BOC 2011, and that sounds like them a lot ... and is good enough ...
Are we all just being Romans all over again? (((((((:-))))))))

I'm not saying BoC is dead, but a fake song that sounds like them shouldn't be proof enough for anyone.

What the fuck is Canada Day and how does it relate to BoC?
To recap: So some troll posts a *fake* Boards of Canada track on YouTube (on fucking Canada Day nonetheless) and this is supposed to mean something? Am I missing something here? This is worthy of debate??
