I bet it has to do with Internet Exploder version 6.

When I load the page in Firefox I don't see this at all. There is just a flash slideshow with BoC pictures in FF... so I guess IE6 can't load the flash.. I bet IE7 does it correctly, right?

It's an Intenet Explorer error, the page works fine in Firefox. This is some of the HTML on the page:

Code: Select all
<script type="text/javascript">
   var fo = new SWFObject("audio/06f.swf", "06f", "1", "1", "7", "#336699" );
   fo.addParam("wmode", "transparent");
   fo.write("flashcontent");
   fo.allowScriptAccess("sameDomain");
</script>

Notice where it says "audio/<b>06f</b>.swf" It's the background noise that plays on the site, see for yourself here: http://www.boardsofcanada.com/audio/06f.swf
There's also more HTML which plays the othere 06m sound here.
This IE error probably has something to do with the new play/pause button a top the pictures because I've never noticed it there before.

I'm in Safari too... I wonder if I'm lacking the flash plugin or something...

I find it interesting that the different parts of the music are labeled "06m" (the deeper bass line) and the other "06f" (the higher noise)... are we talking about male ('m') and female ('f') parts to the tune? Could this be how BoC see the contrasting parts of their songs? Or is this just the way the web designer labeled the loops, and has nothing to do with Mike and Marcus' indexing?... just probably reading too much into it....

Just gotta say this is the GREATEST typo I've ever seen.

That's actually an old IE joke. It's also been called Internut Exploder before to.

The other day I was listening to Surface to Air by The Chemical Brothers... and the very beginning of the song remembered this sound.

Just wanted to point it out. :wink:

Looking for things which we seek though not knowing the significance of in places to be found where they are not regardless of the miniscule chances of success - thank you BoC.
