Did the Campfire Headphase always sounded like this?

Ok so, I've listened to this album so many times I lost count. But, recently I have noticed that the songs seemed to be more slightly high pitched and kind of more faster, I'm not sure if it always sounded like this my ears didn't notice, but it's kind of ruined the whole album for me since I prefered it like how I first listened to it. Is my ears fucking up or was it fucking up before? I want to listen to how I originally was without having to edit them.

Their other albums are completely fine and how I remember them, just this one has a higher pitch. I also searched it on youtube to find the exact same versions just with a higher pitch.

Well, it can't be what i'm listening to it on since i've checked youtube and they sound higher pitched like my version.

No, I'm being serious. I swear to god it was more lowered pitch then it when I listen to it now, I even watched Dayvan Cowboy music video and that was lower then my version

No, i've checked everywhere for the lower pitched versions that I heard but apprantly it didn't exist, the only changes it had was the notes were lower. I just have to accept it I guess.

Let me guess, BOC took this into account and deliberately recorded their work slightly lower than intended? That way, over time, we'd hear them - fleetingly - at the right pitch before they move out of our range of hearing. Like the broken watch which tells EXACTLY the right time twice a day, so for one nanosecond, the right conditions will exist and we'll hear Campfire in all it's glory.

In 20 years time, expect a flood of canine and aquatic mammals to appear on this very board, as the only living creatures now capable of hearing Geogaddi et al, and STILL, they too will have to wait, gently tapping their flippers and paws in angst, until the next album emerges.

Weird... back in 2003 after listening and falling asleep to Geogaddi almost every night, I remember waking up to the album on repeat (on my CD player) and it sounded faster than normal. I thought I was nuts and kept listening closely and playing specific parts over and over again and it sounded sped up. I went back to bed and listened to it again in the morning on my stereo and it sounded fine. I didn't know if my CD player was messing up and playing it fast or what, I don't even think it's possible but you never know with electronics sometimes. I bet it was just my brain processing it different as I was half asleep.

Yeah it happens to me too. Contrary to that would be, coming back home all beaten up by the day's activities or having gone through a traumatic experience, then pop in a favourite track. Songs would sound much slower than they normally do in that instance. (depends on how warmed up our brains are perhaps?) Or it could just be the weather.

Also, I have been listening to a slowed down version of Julie and Candy for a few days. It was a weird experience listening to the track at normal speed after that.

My logical understanding of your realization is that it could be based on mood. I find that when I'm calm I can be more receptive to what's actually going on...hearing things normally. If I'm stressed or have been drinking coffee / took an Aspirin I can lose some of sensitivity of the low-end of my hearing which may cause the aural phenomenon of "pitch rising" since you hear a flatter bass/brighter sound. Do you have a head cold? Are you high or hyper? I notice weird peculiarities such as these because I'm usually mixing/mastering tracks and I get caught hearing that kind of stuff being altered sometimes.

Don't worry! I've experienced similar stuff. Once I listened to lotus flower by radiohead and I could of swore it was in the 140 bpm range instead of 120. It really freaked me out.
