Also, I know what the doppler effect as well as nostalgia are. I mean, what is the culmination of those two terms? How does that have anything to do with MHTRTC? Also, I'm not sure I heard the doppler effect even once in MHTRTC.

but you aren't arguing over something that is important to you but not to me; I have opinions on the Campfire Headphase too but I recognize them as opinions, and not group consensus. These last few pages have been "I don't at all care for TCH" vs "TCH is teh gr8st, you're full of it" and it's an uninteresting, unwinnable argument in that context; If there was elucidation on why TCH was good or bad, that'd be a much more entertaining read than "It's shit" / "No it isn't" / "yes it is" / back and forth, over and fucking over. Gods damn.

Also, way to step up your game R. d3v3l has been giving you a real run for your money as 'worst boarder on twoism' but I think you beat him out here.

and lastly folktronica would refer to song structure + instrumentation, rather than just instrumentation.

I had a similar reaction to the original poster where I was wondering if the music had gone and changed on me. What did it was focusing my listening on the delays used throughout the album, particularly the way the repeats evolve out of (or into when reversed) the original more prominent notes. It’s typical for a tape delay to have a low pass filter smoothing out the accumulated noise, but the feedback paths here seem far more complex than that. Not only are the notes played but the processing is played. The many instances of whirling, warping feedback being achieved becomes a repeated motif. Following those trails has made the listening experience far more psychedelic.

On the surface yes, it sounds more conventional and might appeal to a broader audience, but there's a load of really weird shit going on within those tracks that doesn't jump out immediately in much the same way as it did on the earlier records. It probably was their intention to make something that on the surface is accessible, but that serves as a decoy for something altogether stranger happening within the tracks.

I agree with this. It’s counterintuitive that something can get more important and interesting as it fades away. Surface as decoy is a good way of putting it.

With nice headphones, it's like a cornucopia of psychedelism. Also the sheer amount of layers of detail with different bits and pieces of instruments is really amazing too
