3rd time...

It feels like behind the eyes are burning. This has happened every time. Also, legs feel really heavy & get really tense. It's hard to really focus as well. Weird...normal or no?

It's normal if you're fairly new to it, takes a little while to get used to :) eventually you can disregard those things and enjoy the true nature of it.

For me, for awhile, I used to get like that and REALLY trip hard, but I learned to enjoy being that high so usually I take tolerance breaks so I can return to it again

Probably just your body trying to fight it off, and trying to cling to reality it knows so well. Understand its temporary and just the drug doing its thing and enjoy it!

Had a horrible trip last night. Made a hot chocolate spread for bagels with some sort of weed, no idea what strand, that might have honestly been laced with some sort of heavy stimulant agent. My heart rate was extremely fast (still is a bit fast but I came down a lot) and I felt absolutely horrible, kind of phasing in and out of my perception of physical existence on top of that.

So, I don't think I'm going to just trust people when they offer me weed they use without finding out exactly how and what it's going to do.

More so, I need to take a lot less weed if I'm going to make it in an oil format again.

Do you do edibles often? High thc content strains with edibles can give you some super strong stimulatory effects. I had the same thing happen before.

You tend to tumble over your feet, because you panic more when you pick out a small segmented feeling of anxiety, and you begin to focus on it more and more, so it feels like it's getting stronger and everything else is getting weaker.

Like I said, prolly a strain with a high THC content. You probably overdid it with the oil, do not underestimate it x_X always try a small batch before mixing the whole thing in to get a feel for the content %age of the strain.

I don't know why a lot of people assume weed to be laced when they have negative effects. Weed is perfectly capable of creating intense negative or positive effects, depending on someone's tolerance, their frame of mind, how they perceive the world, their emotional gravity, etc. Who would waste perfectly good stimulants on weed for someone who they would want to keep buying from them? Maybe back in the day, so people would think it was "super powerful weed" or something, but that's very far in the past unless specifically requested.

Had you smoked any of it before extracting it into oil?

TL;DR: shit happens, you learn from the negative outcomes. Don't let it discourage you altogether with trust.

Nope, this is probably my third time doing edibles. I had a relatively low amount to make the spread with (maybe 0.5 a gram) and it's surprising it would hit so heavy, however since it was extremely unusual in my circumstances of someone who doesn't do edibles often, it may have been really exaggerated compared to what it would have been had I already had a developed tolerance for this mechanism of preparing cannabis.

No, I'd not smoked any of it. I personally do not have a pipe.

I totally know what the issue was now, whether it was laced with something additional or not, I went into the situation without really knowing what it was and that's what caused the pressure.

It actually wasn't my idea to make the spread, it was someone else who got a recipe online and thought it'd be a good idea. However, the outcomes can obviously completely vary based on the ingredients. That's why these recipes call for like 2 whole grams to make some oil, but 2 grams of typical reggies were probably what they were using. What I ate last night was probably some really heavy medical shit.

Not sure I can view this as a "learning experience" because it was pretty unnecessary. Completely aware how vastly positive or negative weed can be, but just the fact that this small amount was able to be so unbearable is what leads me to believe that either it was abnormal in some manner, maybe the prep, the strain, additives, my current emotional situation, who knows.

What I do know though is that, pretty conclusively, weed isn't going to serve the purpose of the sleep aid I'm looking for to replace the ambien I currently take. Both smoked an eaten it always tends to act as a stimulant for me. Might be nice for going to a concert or something but not for sleeping in my case.

Same for me, I might grow physically tired but my mind is always too wide awake with weed.

Sucks that it happened! And I know what you mean, not knowing what you could possibly be faced with makes it so that if something out of the ordinary DOES happen the first assumption is that something is wrong, and the whole view of the high/trip has a bias from therein. That being said it was probably a really heavy strain.

I'll always stick to smoking, edibles causes anxiety for me (and my tolerance is always extremely low) and with smoking I need less than the area of my pinky nail and I'm all set  _____  I'll be experimenting with some tonight.

Also, I just found this article. Pretty interesting. The idea of primarily a DECREASE in brain function as opposed to an increase for certain drugs, which gives the illusion of heightened functioning.
