I WAS going to post that I've just bought the new Mark Lanegan LP, but it feels kind of redundant after seeing this...

The whole idea of gun ownership will forever be beyond me....

Did you get it out of appreciation of it as a weapon or the history of it or some other reason? I'm genuinely interested btw. It was used during WW2 on the Eastern front right?

For me? I love guns. Grew up around them. And it's my right to bare arms. I am a careful smart gun owner. I register all my weapons and treat them with respect as well as preach safety. I am politically an Indipendant who just happens to enjoy shooting them. Also, home protection is key in these times. A local woman here had 2 men break in to her home with 10" Hunting knives. She was alone with her baby. She called 911 and told them that she was going to shoot them if they broke in. The operator said do what you need to do to defend your self. In Ohio if anyone unwelcome breaks into your home and you feel that your life threatened? You are aloud to shoot. If you're stupid enough to enter my home with an intention to kill rape or hurt my Wife or Children or me? You better think twice cause I'm going to protect my family. Now, that young women shot that piece of shit with a double Barral 12 guage and killed him. She was within her rights. Now what if she didn't have a gun? The story might have ended differently. "Mother and baby were brutitly raped and murdered by repeat offender." But thankfully she had her freedom to exercise her second amendment.

That's fair enough. I think it's a cultural thing at the end of the day. In a way I think I'd feel less safe if I had a gun in my home for fear of it being used against me, and I don't know if I'd actually be able to fire a gun if it was necessary. The thought frightens me.

The law on self defence here in the UK is pretty vague with the line between legal and illegal action defined by the use of 'reasonable force'. It's come under alot of criticism due to some high profile cases where people have been convicted for 'unreasonable force' against an intruder. In my opinion, something like this which cannot be clearly defined has no place in such an important law.

I don't at all. I mean, in a very strict sense it does go against the base idea, however it works to keep assholes who should not own guns from acquiring them as easily.

Reminds me, I need to go and register. Been meaning to pick up a handgun of some sort since I'm going to be moving to a pretty shady area of Phoenix in a week or two and I really don't feel like getting killed.

If used correctly and safely it can save your life. Killed or be killed. I would get a concealed carrying license and buy a 38 Special Revolver or a Semi-Auto Ruger LCP

Compact and easy to conceal but can pack enough power to knock the person or thing down.

I don't plan on killing anyone. The current state of government the US has (or at least the state I'm in) is so corrupted that someone who kills someone in complete self defense still goes to prison for a couple years. However, usually if an attacker is coming at you here you can shoot them in the leg and then subdue them, then call the police and report what happened and it's fine, and that's mainly what I'd have it for if the situation ever arose.

The thing is so small that the film cartridge hangs out the side.

Well I should have had a Large, but I've got Extra Large, gonna see if it shrinks if I wash it on 60/90 degrees. I mean, I can wear em, but they are way to wide at the arms especially.

Remember this? Probably not... but anyways, I purchased the APC40 on Dec 21. They took my money and sent me an email confirming the purchase. Soon after I got an email saying that they were out of stock and will special order it for me and it would take an extra 2 weeks. Kinda sucks, right? So after a couple weeks I sent emails and called them leaving messages for someone to get back to me. No one got back to me. This ended up going on for quite some time. So I finally got through to someone on this past Thursday, which was 7 WEEKS after they took my money! I cancelled my order with them after stating my dissatisfaction with their customer service. Today I received my money back in my account and purchased the APC40 from a competitor who does have it in stock, and I made sure of that. So I should receive my APC40 early next week. Can't bloody wait.
