Easy Rider.

Sometimes it seemed more like an extended music video than a feature film, but I thought it was great.

That "If Six Was Five" or whatever Hendrix song was rad.

Does anyone know if that movie was the first place "Born to be Wild" appeared? It seemed so appropriate. A lot of cool shots and some crazy editing too.

cool film. i like when 'wasn't born to follow' by the byrds is playing as they're leaving the commune.
quality. i just recently saw 'pi' which i thought was pretty cool. christ used a sample from it for his tune 'always to play' on MRM. "when i was a little kid my mother told not to stare into the sun" i think BT also used "mathematics is the language of nature" for their tune 'the fibonacci sequence'

It's funny you should mention Pi because I just watched that for the first time ten minutes ago. Loved the music. Nice to hear some Autechre in a cinematic format.

I had to wonder, though, as I watched that movie, if that film had served as an inspiration for some of the elements in Geogaddi. I saw a lot of paralells in there.

[Edit]: I hope this isn't one of those 'been explored a million times in a million threads kind of comments' but I can't remember discussing it before. Don't shoot me.

Hey, I don't blame you. I think it's one of those movies where you either really like it or really you don't. Jack Nicolson did a lot for me in that movie. I kind of wish that Peter Fonda had been beat to death instead.

The Grandmother

Found on the "Short Films of David Lynch" DVD.

Full of BoC-ish music.. very interesting to watch as well (music composed by Tractor in 1970? must find more!)

Also on that DVD is a short film of his called "The Alphabet". This must serve as the foundation for every modern day Japanese horror film.

Movie that didn't impress me: Pirates of the Carribean 2.

What a waste of five bucks.

It had the EXACT SAME plot as the first one, only with a new prick from the homeland generating troubles for will and elizabeth and a new mystical object associated with Jack Sparrow's sordid past that they must recover in the face of more supernatural, semi-demonic resistance.

Very little acting, very little plot, very little soul.

Empire Strikes Back and Two Towers were sequels. Pirates 2 was a rehash. Which is a shame, because I really liked the first one. :x
