Given the background noise that is different from the original, I would tend to believe so yes, good find :)

I think it's all planned out by the Hexagon Sun collective and has nothing to do with Warp

As unromantic as it sounds I think this is much more likely to be at least 50% Warp's baby.

By the way, has anyone discussed the price of the record? $24.99. That must be a clue. 2 + 4 + 9 + 9 = 24.. Then 2 + 4 = 6!

It's all so intricately planned! There I was thinking they were charging $25 FOR 42 SECONDS OF AUDIO. (Then again if there is only a single copy for sale, and they're not acetate, it's safe to Warp is operating at a loss.)[/i]

you forgot something else, 42 seconds is 24 reversed, 2+4=7 (7 is the joke)

i personally don't think its genius or clever marketing crap. its scattery, obscure, disjointed, generating conclusion after conclusion of nonsense, childishly ridiculous and without a doubt - pretentious.

csch, meh 2020k: oh if you add .ca to it it brings you to a site with the word Canada on it.

well no shit sherlock!

and like i joked, if you go to the chinese school in edinburgh it has the same hexagon sun po box number.

csch my arse

they're playing off your paranoia and you're falling for it.
they're the boys who cried wolf so many times, just release the album and keep that bit of respect
you've got left.

Interesting, but nothing interests me really except that last sentence...

The Beast is mankind, the number of the Beast is 666, Man was created on the 6th day, etc.

Since history is somewhat cyclical, ancient Babylon and the tower of Babel was A culmination of the Beast rising up out of the earth, but the Beast of Today is the Internet--essentially the rising "out of the earth" of a massive Overmind where all of Mankind's thoughts become shared and de-privatized. That is where technology is going, and also why BOC quietly preach against the internet.

Why all the anger? No one forces you to go through the hoops, some like it, some are interested, not everyone is into sleuthing and fanboyism but others are. If it irates you that much I am sure that there are better things to do than berate those who chose to have fun.

And when you say "they" you're jumping the gun, it might be completely out of the hands of the Sandisons, might be Warp for all we know, or a firm working for Warp.

But they did say the internet was evil... case in point ;)

Might be time to step away from the keyboard for a little while brotherman. I can't picture a better and more fun way to bide my time while I wait for them to get down to brass tacks.

Has anyone else noticed there's a second of noise at the beginning of the nuevas semillas video?

If so, disregard this...

I had not noticed, no it does bear similitude to old vinyl however when I crank it up. I wonder if it's a leftover from the original video or on purpose... there's a maddening attention to details in some of those things.

Chill out man. I don't understand all this animosity towards the way they are releasing this information. We have waited 7 years for a release from them, why on earth is it a bad thing that they have decided to make the build up to this release really intriguing and exciting? I for one am absolutely lovin every second of it. Every thought, every theory. It has brought the entire BoC community together and I think I speak for most of them when I say I'm grateful that they've seemingly put so much effort into organising this and making it something to remember.

Completely agree with MindElevation here. No need to be so angry if the viral campaign isn't your thing. To reiterate a post I made earlier on BocPages' FB status: You need to promote a new record before it goes on sale or no-one will buy it. BoC aren't the kind of guys who are going to go around the chat show circuit and do numerous radio and magazine interviews and, speaking personally, I wouldn't want them to be like that. This kind of stuff is an excellent way of building awareness for the album to ensure maximum exposure without having to become media whores - the conventional ways of promoting an album are dull as fuck - I much prefer BoC's approach here.

This video was linked in the comments of Tycho's blog, probably a troll but very nice sounding all the same.

The —— / —— / —— / XXXXXX / —— / —— bit pops up at the end, but I'm guessing fake.

It doesn't give any number positions away either. Definitely fake now I think about it.

This whole viral marketing thing has been meticulously planned by my reckoning. There's no way they're going to reveal a part of it (completely different to the other parts) by randomly posting a link on a fan blog that didn't even exist when they starting the planning for this ARG. Fake.

Loving it so far.

Anyone worked out what some of those background noises are on the clips yet? Apologies, I've been at work and I may have missed this??
