That's about the same question I'm having. Or maybe the album is simply signifying "the end" times.
Well to me end of nature is kinda like "the end times". Not yet can the humanity survive without earths habitat. Sick times!

I just want to sit outside on a breezy warm spring day with clouds in the sky and my big ass headphones cranking the tunes.. Or maybe pop it in, open up my glass roof in my outlander sport and go drive through the hills..

That sounds like a excellent combination. Something about playing dark, thoughtful music contrasting with a bright sunny day...

Considering that BOC spent countless hours working on recapturing that old decayed sound of child time memories, this seems like a leap forward. This likely follows not a trend of dreams of the past but rather of fears of the future. Geogaddi was somewhat camped, as I feel it, more into the present and reflective of it, Tomorrow's Harvest seems to go further up road.

I had, based on other's cues and insights, (as posted on the IRC channel): "06:22 <Magrathea> perhaps cosecha is the abandoned number station broadcasting to a devastated land where no one is there to listen, sounds a bit of a downer, I like it already"

Seems like I am getting my wishes answered, and with a nice number of tracks to delve into it. :D

Couldn't agree more. Looking forward spending the summer listening to a apocalyptic soundtrack. :D

Think they'll put out a single/video between now and the release date?

Nope, but as somebody who was telling people to lighten up over the MBV artwork, I don't mind.

It is nice artwork, and it is a new album so...

It's knid of like a movie poster from a certain era, which is in keeping with boc sentiments.

True mate, I should stop whinging. Though I did like the MBV artwork a lot :)

Geogaddi is different true, but its tonally and stylistically similar to the other records. Ah well, its NEW and its HERE :D

DawnChorus wrote:I thought that too initially, but I think the picture itself is very BoC-esque. I think the type is the least BoC thing about it; figured the font color would be a contrast but soft color rather than black, but from the track titles that could be a reflection of how dark it's going to be.

Yeah I like it, its just that title. So different and unlike their aesthetic. Im not complaining just surprised :)

Bring on the interviews, that what I say. What have they been up to the last few years? Be fascinating to know.

This would be great! So much of their previous music had brought up those "nostalgic" moments for me (Sesame Street, etc) that the only thing left was my crippling fear, when growing up, that the world was going to end or Nuclear War (thanks Threads / The Day After!). Exciting to think about.

Definitely. It's nice to speculate meaning behind a piece of art, but I always think it's worth listening to the artist's intentions.

That's another interesting point... is it necessarily about fearing the future? Or simply stating that the future is bleak, it is death, and that there's no admonishing the state of humanity. It's just part of the end.

I think I got about the same numbers. Around the same length as the original (that is with out Happy Cycling, and imo the proper) release of MHTRTC. One thing to note is that there aren't many length tracks, only two that go beyond five minutes. There are also less vignette tracks apparently, unless they are appended to the tracks (or act as intros possibly). In any case, more proper* tracks which is good news for me at least

* = which is not to say I don't love the shorter vignette pieces as well!
