Because June 9th is a Sunday

Wouldn't it be hilarious to find out now that the brothers are the heavily religious type?

From a marketing perspective it would be stupid.

Yeah, even Jesus himself couldn't orchestrate the postal service to deliver all these albums on a Sunday.

Thank goodness it's a fake. It was awful.

This is pretty much as excited as I get for new music! Man, 2013 is an awesome year in music!!!

Lucky to have a year wait man. A lot of us have been seeing waterfalls in the desert for 7-8 years. Welcome- bastard. :D

the album cover is a shot of san francisco...the fore ground is alameda naval air station

I know its SF but there are also hills in that cover that are not from that site...its more than just SF... I am not as concerned with the hills as I am with who did the cover art though. Very curious. I thought BoC usually did the art themselves but this one seems different.

Thanks for bringing this up! I felt the same way since I first saw it, too. I think the new cover art is cool and all, but it doesn't convey that same nostalgic feeling that brings me back to my childhood. I guess TCH doesn't really do that either, but this album cover just feels a little un-BOC'ish to me at least. Really hope the music is on-point, can't wait to listen.

Yeah, I'm not really feeling the cover art for whatever reason.

lol, I know! The exact same thing happened with Bowie, too! I only got into him last year, and all of a sudden he announces his first album in a decade :D I just have great timing :P

My guess is because it (combined with the title font) seems to be going for more of an early 80s feel rather than the usual warm 70s vibe their covers exude. I think it's going to be a dark, Reagan era cold war "what if they dropped the nukes?" type concept album.

Yep. To me, this looks like a total early 80's style. Completely different look/feel than their previous albums. Kind of hoping the music is too!

I think this is why it appeals to me so much. Ahhh mixed up childhood memories of hanging out with my toys and watching The Day After on a warbly VHS.

if the music fits then great, but as it is it gives me a bad feeling in its bordering clichés. its cinematic in feel no doubt, 70s and 80s. The font Avant Garde has been around since the 70s and the trick is still used to convey this period. Unfortunately it has become 'hip' overused (espeically its Alternates) combined with this new wave of instagram style photography or just simply evocative. It was also used on ABPOITC... 70s.

Geogaddi still my fave, its just so unusual and original looking.

I like this cover but I know what you mean. That's how I feel about a lot of the Neil Kruger stuff tbh.

What if this wasn't event the cover art? What if the track names are fake? That would be funny. I'm 99% sure this not the case, but with BoC, you never know. That's one of the many things I love about them- never sure. I just posted this for laughs, so don't think I'm so far off the edge that I don't buy my own reflection. Although, sometimes my refelection doesn't feel like me. But anyway... :)

I love the cover art. It conjures up something vaguely epic, a sense of impending doom. Properly pre-apocalyptic.
I'll see you when the sun sets east, don't forget me.

Agreed. It's a sharp looking cover.

Just put in for my pre-order. What a feeling of release. Kind of like taking a dump but way cooler.

Oh yeah, I forgot that something can only be purchased on the day it releases and never again. Thanks for reminding me! Would be stupid to release it on a relevant day indeed.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

So they're moving on. What if that means we might see an early 90's style BoC album someday? That'd have to be their last.

If this has been mentioned my apologies.

I hope they send over some stickers and other extras much like past releases.

Just a thought.

An artist's freedom is to change, that's why tons of people call their former favorite band sellouts over time, really it happens all the time. For one I am eager to hear their new material, I have a feeling that at first I will be unsure but that it will grow on Me. I can't wait!
