I reckon there is a lot of bogus bidding going on there. But some nutter with loads of money will end up buying it for like $7.5k in the last moments

I can't believe the guy bent one of the edges

This has entered my collection since the last time I posted. Found it from a local bookstore that was closing down. In near mint (played maybe once, sleeve absolutely perfect) condition and got it for 30€. Now I'm only missing TCH EP and I have their main discography on wax.

What makes you think he did it? It could've happened during delivery or poor handling in the store (which is my guess). It's not uncommon at all to find completely new records in stores that have little defects like that. Here's one record I bought incidentally on RDS, was brand new, in plastic and all.

yea i've had 2 copies, one my 2nd now. both fine though someone on discogs comments mentions
they went through 4 copies to get a good one? odd. not sure if these were pressed at different times, didn't think so but theres a lot of them out there, maybe 4,000.

Hm, I remember that comment too. In any case, my copy at least sounds amazing.

I very much doubt a Warp representative hand delivering one of the rarest and most significant electronic records of the past decade directly to the store shelves would result in damage due to poor handling. I don't think any employees even got to touch it.

Excellent bargain you picked up there BTW ^

Your speculation is as good as mine, and I meant handling by the customers.

most significant electronic records of the past decade

...yeah, ok. I'll give you 'rarest' but...

You mean you think some customers picked it up then put it back down again? Surely not

That record marked the return of Boards of Canada after 8 years. I'd say that is pretty significant...

Anyway. We're going completely off topic here

i got peel sessions on vinyl a few weeks back for £4!!! close to mint. thats the only
bargain ive got in relation to boc, though ABPOITC for £23 near mint was ok imo considering

I'm sure that's very possible to happen , not everyone knows Boc, and not everyone knows every single release by them nor their possible value.

My point is that they could've just as easily not have released it. It's nothing special musically. It does have certain symbolic value, but I don't think its fair to say it's one of the most important electronic music releases of the recent years.

Very nice. I actually got quite lucky with my whole collection. The seven other records I own (Twoism, Hi Scores, MHTRTC, Peel Session, Beautiful Place, Geogaddi+promo) I got from en ebay auction for 200€, so that's altogether about 30€ per piece of Boc vinyl for me.

Could you make some proper scans of these? Or pictures if scan isn't possible? I'd like to include them on bocpages.

actually there's no real point, if you go to discogs page for the original twoism and look at the images there, those are pics I took a few years ago anyway.

Thanks so much for these pristine scans. I've added them to bocpages:

http://bocpages.org/wiki/Geogaddi_listening_parties
http://bocpages.org/wiki/Live_@_Lighthouse

Feel free to edit those pages if you want to give some additional details of those events. Would really appreciate that! Or if you have some other missing artwork or anything...
