So I've been listening to BoC for at least four and a half years, and I (ashamedly) never bought anything of theirs ... all mp3s to this point. I just ordered Twoism, IABPOITC, MHTRTC, Geogaddi, and Campfire Headphase on CD from Amazon

And I have the Tomorrow's Harvest preorder in already ... they should all arrive around the same time (and my 20th birthday is June 10th) and my long-overdue physical collection will be here. I'm fucking psyched.

And I think it's funny that everyone always talks and talks about ordering vinyl, but not CDs. I think CDs are great ... I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's like it's uncool to buy CDs anymore.

......
...Guys, I'm cool ... right?

Can't remember when and where it was (FB Bocpages or here?) but someone said that Bleep might send Tomorrow's Harvest's MP3 files to everyone who pre-ordered, (possibly) a month before the official release date (just like they did with Autechre etc...). Since then it got stuck in my mind...the day has arrived and got nothing in my email...sad! Give the files already!!! Or at least one track PLEASE!!!
(Jacquard Causeway for exemple! )

I hope that's true! Anyone know where he heard this from? Sounds like bollocks.

No one said we'd be getting it a month early in digital form for sure. Someone made the observation that the digital download for the new Autechre was made a couple/few weeks early of the album's physical release.

So far I haven't heard anything about the new Bibio download being (officially) released, so maybe the days of the early digital downloads from Bleep is over.

That being said, I hope we get it around June 5th-6th. The 6th is going to be a perfect day for me to take off from work to listen, and the Japanese version will be out by then too.

Hey!
I've definitely read it on one of the comments on FB Bocpages.
Still I was just questioning this...AND june 5th would just be great too!
(although I'd still love to hear Jacquard Causeway)

CDs are probably the worst format I can think of. Only useful for being in the car or for transferring between computers.

as far as ease of use, vinyl<tape<FLAC file<CD<mp3

Depends on what you mean by "worst", but it seems that some of you need to listen to the scientists and engineers who actually work with sound.

I would buy vinyl if I had a decent record player / the money to buy vinyl, but I don't have either. It's a lifestyle that would be nice to pursue.

I think CDs always sound fine.

I can understand not wanting to buy it on vinyl if you don't ever plan on getting a turntable ever (although you never know, and if you decide two years down the line you like listening on vinyl you'll be SOL because it won't be as readily available, ask anyone who paid a buttload for Geogaddi etc).

I might get the cd too though, I'm not sure yet. It seems redundant when I can just listen to the flac files when I'm on the go and it's nice to have the larger artwork and the choice to listen in either format.

I'm surprised it took this many pages for this debate to start up, I guess we're starting to get restless for this puppy to come out already :)

made sure my phone could play FLAC so I don't plan on getting the CD, it's redundant to have two physical formats and one digital really

My family always argues with me about buying music (what a post-2005ish argument) because I already have the mp3s ... I don't need to defend myself for downloading because I know that a good 95% of of you here do it too (not that I'm trying to base my argument on a bandwagon fallacy)

ANYWAY, when I listen to a band for years, I like to buy their stuff. I think that's reasonable. I love having the artwork and booklets and actual tangible thing. It's nice. I buy a shitload of books now and I always used to borrow. It's nice to have a little collection of things you'll read and re-read / listen and re-listen for years to come.

CDs have been superceded somewhat by digital, so buying the vinyl + digital download is probably the best of both worlds if you have the means to listen to vinyl. Unfortunately, I don't, so I'm sticking to the CD for now. Will probably listen to it a couple of times and enjoy the artwork and packaging (which I'm sure is much nicer in the vinyl packaging, by virtue of the format)

I am 99% digital but I do buy a few CDs every year, this will be one of them.

Yeah me too, since I sold my turntable many years ago. If I started buying vinyl again I'd have the strangest collection jumping a huge gap straight from early 90s rave to the present day ;)

Just been listening to 747, and you know, thematically it fits nicely as a segue into the new album...

Funny. All my music purchases have been either on cassette or MP3's this year. And I know for sure I've bought more cassette albums than anything else this year. Many tapes have started coming with digital downloads as well.

I'm hoping to get a new record player for my birthday (in a week) since all my old albums and player burned up in a fire a few years ago (I know, wah-wah, that's all I talk about). And if so, I'll get to play the albums I've accumulated over the last year or so.. and of course the Tomorrow's Harvest vinyl in a month.

If Tomorrow's Harvest was available as a cassette, I'd buy multiple copies in a heartbeat. I've also been known to transfer favorite albums to 8-track. I guess I just love tape!

So has there been a leak yet? I am going biking tomorrow supposed to be beautiful weather and could go for listening to the new album while riding on the trails instead of just listening to their old stuff like normal.
