But I haven't a clue what it could be, I don't think it would be good to somehow show the Reach For the Dead video / track again, would disappoint me a bit anyway. But struggling to think of what it could be. Seems an odd place to have much going on at 5pm on a Monday? Compared to that super busy junction in Tokyo.
Also, if the water park is 2hrs away from the location stated (the petrol station and surrounding areas) then why are people talking about it?
The old Lake Dolores waterpark is roughly in the center of the announcement JPEG. It's about a 2.5 hr drive from L.A.
ahh right. Sorry lads, I must have misread that post regarding the 2 hours distance.

Since it is such a desolate place I dont see them doing a live show or screening a video. My guess is that it's just referring to the time listed and whatever it is will be revealed online at that time. Why sending fans on a wild goose hunt In the dessert would seem like a reasonable thing to do I dont know. I hope I am wrong for sure but, the video in Japan gave specific location details. So here's to hoping something happens out there.

But if it's at 5pm, it wouldn't be dark enough for a video yet. So... what the fuck?
It must be a listening party.

I presumed near Barstow and I just started scanning google satellite with a large enough monitor.
But as was noted elsewhere, there is EXIF data attached to the jpeg that gives a location - which is the entrance to the water park.

Does anyone wanna meet up out there? I'm gonna drive out from LA. Even if there isn't any kind of event, it looks like a cool place to explore and take photos. I'll be there for sure!

Cool. If I was anywhere near by I'd go just for the hell interface of it. Document anything that happens or post some pictures of the area.

For those heading out to Yermo tomorrow, be prepared for temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. It will also be a little windy. Prepare accordingly.

If I were closer I could spend days taking pictures there. The solar power plant. The dry lake beds and old antennae. Abandoned 50's architecture. Etc.. Badwater lake is one of the lowest points on earth, where they say the salt flats can break into hexagonal patterns.
