they weren't exactly out there policing people by the looks of it
you would think "the band has requested you don't do this" would've been enough, but alas

I guess I can kinda see why people are mad about this guy recording and uploading the whole thing but

the same the happened with ATP and their other live performances. people went around and told people to turn off their devices, but some didn't.

That's different though. Those were live performances. This was an event with 100% new material and warp said "per Boards of Canada's wish" so it was a direct request from the brothers that makes that situation more of a problem. And also didnt the brothers sample the end of the Telephasic Workshop live recoding for the Kiss FM show?

edit: oh shit lol you quoted me. awesome.

but can't it be justified that since the album is going to be released within a week, it doesnt really matter that the guy recorded it or not

yes, of course, but that justification works both ways. if it's going to be out in a week why not honor their wishes and just... not tape it

either way, i haven't listened to it and i think a lot of people probably haven't as well
*farts*

Exactly, I have waited too long to listen to this in such an underwhelming way as that! It seems crazy to me to chase down a subpar recording, just to say I've heard it. I've had enough struggles coming to terms with listening to the stream on Monday, but the idea of it being a group experience has won out over the solitary one that I have planned for a few days later!

I feel you dude. But maybe its still in your best interests to grab what you can-when you can for archival, historical, and memorial keepsake purposes.

Years from now you may find great value in remembering the event and LOVE to hear it in its entirety. I'd imagine you'd also want a copy of the exact version you experienced but to each their own...

I preordered the album but if a proper leak surfaces of good quality id listen to it in a second. But definitely not wasting the first experience on some shitty listening party rip.

Does anyone have any experience with these types of releases in the past? What is the likelihood of the Bleep download being available as soon as the Japanese version is out?

Uh... Am I the only one who thinks it's completely useless for Rolling Stone magazine to review an electronic artist?

You know what they say...

Any press = good press.

Just imagine hoards of newbies at mag. rack say who? what? run to youtube, fall in love, pre-order.

Perfect fix.

I saw Radiohead in Camden last July (damn, already almost a year ago) and received a free Rolling Stone subscription for a year as part of the ticket price ... the interviews are pretty good; but dear god, those reviews .....

Going by reviews, the best way to describe this album is if John Carpenter made dubstep.

A jounalist friend has had the album emailed to him a couple of hours ago. He likes it. Says little has changed.

The difference between TCH and this album is pretty massive, if you ask me.
