When I hear the first 3 notes, I always think of the Universal ident. It's the same interval and timing, though in a different key.

I like to think there is a little bit of Jerry Goldsmith in there. Especially since they've said they were listening to a lot of 70's and 80's film scores. He was one of the original pioneers of electronics in film scoring...

Just thought of this one - probably closer to the inspiration:

Although this one ticks a lot of boxes:

And what about this one:

The last one I promise (I have watched too many old VHS production logos) but this one is a doozy:

I made a video!

(at time of posting, not up)
http://boc.coon.pw

I put it on my site just for the effect of a black background. I didnt think of it at the time, but now that I do, the jumping-around-of-video effect looks pretty good with no border. Huh!

Goddammit I love this track. I'll <3 it forever cos I'm a Gemini. My first listen on Saturday, I had the speakers CRANKED and when those dark doomy synths started ping-ponging around my stereo (and ears!) I was in LOVE

And still am 8)
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

If I've missed this before, I apologize. But is it just me or is there the faintest whistling wind behind those first few string notes??

Reminds me of watching Danger Mouse as a small child in the early 80s :)

Don't forget Orion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ke5c7CPIQM And I think Pegasus represented Tri-Star.

The Gemini twins Castor and Pollux have pretty interesting stories. I believe they were separated eventually, one residing with the living and the other with the dead (or gods). Could be an intro to a divided story, or one about both the ghosts of the departed and the people still living in a dead world. The latter reaching for the dead for answers, or more.

There's a little chip-tune like sequence ascending and descending in the last half. Think Do-Re-Mi. It sounds doubled, and would make triangle or pyramid shapes written out on the staff. Maybe nine notes all together. It even sounds like it could have been made with a Caleco-Vision Gemini (an Atari2600 clone). Could be nothing, but feels like a major clue.

Sounds like one lower arpeggio with the pattern 123454321 repeating, with the other one rising 6 or 7 notes (maybe doubling the fourth one) and making two repetitions followed by a shorter 123 which cuts off before starting over. They don't quite sync but the pattern almost feels like fitting a needle in a groove, maybe using the broken repetition as a starting point. It reminded me of how the pioneer and voyager probe records had a track to teach you how to play them.

Or it just sounds cool like that. The rising voices also sound like the last part of Dune when the sandworms rise and open their mouths. And that's fun too..

Nice work, the radio tune outs key in so well with the different rocket stage ejects!

Spured on by an earlier post about events in 1995 and possible links to Transmisiones Ferox, I stumbled upon a documentary called 'Day 51: The True Story of Waco' (part 1 of 8).

Watch the start and listen carefully from 1.36 onwards; similar sound and feel to that of the wafer thin keyboard following the fanfare of Gemini + the link to Koresh! It even feels right when the bass notes start to fade in. Sounds a like a lost track from TH.

This ident reminds me of the first horn sound that appears in the fanfare.

i dunno if it's been mentioned in this thread already but that four note melody reminds me a lot of the four note melody in "ready let's go." both the first song on their albums. they aren't the same melody but they kinda echo each other to me

Sorry if i missed this discussion amidst all the identity politics itt.

At the very end of the track (like, the last 5 seconds) out the left channel, there's a quiet, static-y voice that I think is reversed. I can't understand it for the life of me. Any ideas?
