what the actual fuck. all of this is weirder than the rsd incident.
I saw my future. I saw my past. For a few minutes it was like being alive.

Maybe Carthage is a sample from a badly damaged cassette tape?

I can't take this much BoC excitement in one year... This should be interesting.

I hope this actually leads to something, instead of a dead end. Box set teaser maybe?

I'm sorry to say that this is weirder because we are all grasping at straws. I really don't think this is another hype build up; it's just a false alarm.

Think of it this way: they just launched a very successful hype campaign for TH, and they've just announced the reissues of the original back-catalogue on vinyl, which appears to be very profitable. Why the heck would they expend all the requisite energy for another cryptic marketing campaign for some other release, old tunes or whatever else?

What is more likely: we are just eager BOC fans seeing a face in the mountainside of random stuff, or there is another official puzzle-announcement? In light of the considerations above, I'm leaning toward overreaction on our part.

I'd guess just because the fans are the only ones who know about the old tunes, so the appeal is way more niche than a repress of their already popular records.
that said, I'm still coming down on the 'fake' side here, but after they hid a clue in the source code of the banner image of a fan forum I don't think anything's out of the question.

I don't think that this whole thing necessairly means a new album. I just think it's fascinating that we're being led down a rabbit hole that may or may not never have even been intended to exist. Regardless of whether there is any actual connection between this last.fm account, the leaked song, and the youtube channel, it makes for a pretty interesting puzzle for the mind and only extends the BoC mythos further. Also, I'm not entirely convinced that this a meaningless wild goose chase. Someone pointed out there was a hex coding in the Hell Interface picture - that's got to be there for some kind of reason, right?

How did that Hex code thing come about? I seem to have missed that, despite reading the whole thread.

I also have to say I really don't buy into all this. Feels too messy for BoC and after all the proper clues leading up to TH, real tangible evidence, I have to agree that this does feel like clutching at straws. I hope I'm wrong, I would love some old stuff to be released. I just don't see anything at all concrete here, and don't expect to see this release coming so soon after TH & the vinyl re-pressings myself, though if it was to, I'd expect some solid clues at least, not some Youtube channel that anyone could have made. And I don't see anything significant in terms of anything pointing towards a release anywhere.

As for MDG's not chiming in being seen as some sort of unofficial confirmation, maybe he's away on holidays, away from this forum or just busy.. Can't really expect him to be on here non stop waiting to confirm or deny random happenings. I do hope we hear from him soon, I'm sure he'll comment on all this when he can.

EDIT: Just seen the new remix was confirmed as a fake on it's thread. If it was, then that surely means that Youtube account means nothing..

Again, what's the talk on the Houston mix being a "confirmed" fake?
Also I quite like the shorter clips as well. Reflective on BoC's earlier synth-pop style and I'd love to hear longer versions.
Hex code?

I think the hex of the HI image is the best catch of this saga, but I've a feeling it's a missed bait and maybe already forgotten. Or some abandoned branch of the TH game. I mean, that picture was uploaded around the RSD event and nobody took notice. Maybe they would have even hinted us towards it. Or they did, but we didn't find out. :P

This could be simplified by not posting unconfirmed rumors to the bocpages. Unless that was the only way to get mdg's attention?
