MORE goddamn, motherfucking synth arps, again.

Hopefully that's something they just made in the style of TH for this thank you message or an outtake and not a teaser of what's next to come.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

I was going to say it reminds me of Collapse.

I would be surprised, if this were indeed a teaser of a new release (most likely being a Trans Canada Highway-esque companion EP) if there weren't these kinds of arpeggio synths. It's all part of the Tomorrow's Harvest sort of style/sound within this heavy concept.

since when has one release foreshadowed the style and themes of the next one?
you might wanna take a look at their longer body of work and take a chill pill, they are a constantly evolving machine

eh, where did they say that it's a teaser?
non-present ones who enjoyed this show through tv and internet were given fragment from Reach for the dead, does it mean that their next work will be exactly the same as previous?

What's wrong with arps? Has BoC ever REALLY repeated themselves between releases? The untrained ear would say they did between MHTRTC and Geogaddi, but anyone who's paying attention knows that's not the case.

In the year since TH has been released, have you accepted that your dissatisfaction with it could be more to be with you and and not them? No need for me to white knight BoC in this place, but it's a serious question.

Why don't you refrain from assuming someone's status of being "chill" or not "chill" over text, where you can't infer the tone of my voice - that'd be great.

Anyways, "since when"? Since TCH and its "companion EP". So yeah, that's not much of a track record. I'm not making any claims, because I don't know and neither do any of you. A thank you message is a little bit different than a teaser for an EP. It could be part of one and it could not. It could be equally as likely that it's an outtake from TH recorded during the seemingly short period of time they made the album, or something they made now in the same style. I hope that it's not or that if it is, this is one small section of only one song.

You know, because thanking someone for a nomination or award for a record that sounded a certain way probably warrants something that sounds the same way?

My comment was simply that they already made Tomorrow's Harvest - they need not make it again. Please don't tell someone else to look at the body of work of one of their favorite bands ever unless you know their history with that band and how new they are/qualified to have an opinion about said band. I'm sorry I don't know what Melissa Juice sounds like with both tracks inverted and mixed to mono. I don't have that kind of time, but hopefully you'll fuckin' forgive me mate!

No, it's not. It's not remotely a serious question and this sort of thing is the reason that I'm not around here anywhere near as much anymore. Please read what you wrote again.

Everyone's dissatisfaction with an album or a song has everything to do with them. It's called taste, it's a personal thing, it's subjective. If your satisfaction with an artist's work clings greatly upon some sort of value that they have rather than the work they're putting out and you hearing and interpreting it, then the way you listen to music is so alien to me I cannot comprehend it whatsoever.

You said it yourself: "No need for me to white knight BoC in this place".

Don't.

Every time anyone here posts an opinion that's critical, it becomes a big deal, even though there's no sort of validity to an opinion about the quality of music, people seem to want to make it a big deal.

We can either keep that going (pointlessly) or we can move on.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

If it's inflammatory to you that I don't like a particular style of BoC, you need to lighten up - no guilt here anymore about telling someone what to do since you don't care.

What do I expect? Probably that people don't take the opinions of others as some sort of slander to them. I don't care for the bulk of TH and its style (I don't "hate" it) but not once have I mocked or made fun of someone because they do. My criticisms of BoC aren't directed at an individual here, it would make no sense if they were. If you must have it explained then I wasn't saying anything more redundant than anyone else. I said "hopefully it isn't a preview of what's to come" because frankly it's nothing special at all. This is the band that made Geogaddi, and hearing the overuse of arps culminating in total filler tracks like Collapse is disappointing to me. I didn't like the direction. My thoughts on it have nothing to do with you though, nothing whatsoever.

Anyways, let's look at the situation again: I stated an opinion, you told me to take a chill pill. Not everyone is going to like what you like or act the same way about it, that's life. That's my point. Good to know you're "chill tho" even though you responded to fujee with "hey im not out here whinging about arps!!", actually posted "na im good" on Twoism, seem to care quite a bit about someone saying something, as you said, slightly inflammatory about BoC and finally, putting in quotations that BoC is one of my favorite bands without really noticing the fact that I've been here for a while, posted a lot about BoC and even stated that Geogaddi along with a few other records actually kept me from killing myself in dark times. That's childish - no offense meant.

I actually find it quite refreshing to hear a little criticism every now and then. It shows that people can think for themselves not being afraid of not liking certain aspects of BoC *gasp, oh the blasphemy, BoC music is perfect in everyway and whoever disagrees is going to get a shit storm*
I would suspect seanandcandy agrees with this, but appears to be just practicing on his trolling with Rodheh
