All these new features, so much changed... where to look, where to look??! Well, ease down :) Whatever you do be sure to read this post carefully!

First off a toast to twoism.org on its 10th anniversary!!
I would also like to bring an immense toast to subset (Angel Draganov)! Without his code and design skills twoism.org would still be dangling in the unsafe phpBB2 environment. Not only did he create this fresh custom template but he also helped me with the database import. Some bug juggling trickery needed to be done to make it work. The past year he has put A LOT of time into making this a unique board and it wasn't always that easy. We've chatted a lot during this period and I know he personally had a tough time too. I have no words to describe how thankful I am. The irony is that the thank you present I sent him arrived today!
For those who want to praise Angel please do so in this topic. If you want to praise by donating some money perhaps, please put Angel in the donate notes somewhere(or send me a PM) and I'll forward it to Angel.

All of this would never even happened without you, the good old members of twoism.org!
10 years ago when Chyld set this place up (and involved me right away) we never expected it to grow into such a caring community. The origin of Chyld and my cooperation lies in the Boards of Canada room on SoulSeek. He contacted me to be part of this but after about a year personal issues in his life meant that he asked me to carry it on.
At the beginning the community was very tight and with only a few addicts the forum moved slow. After a while the members kept on coming in and twoism started to grow into a great community.

I don’t know about you guys, but for me the absolute pinnacle was how BOC, via MDG, included us in the Tomorrow’s Harvest promo campaign. Just think about that for a moment. Imagine you were the person getting ‘that’ email asking us to use OUR forum as an official part of that. The banners, the hidden audio clues… Still makes me smile whenever I think about it!

Why this overhaul?
It is because phpBB3 works in a total different way and the old design couldn't be ported. A few years ago I requested some designers and I got a few responses. Angel's design really stood out and I felt very comfy with it, along with the working process.
Right at the beginning we discussed having a board style which copies the atmosphere of phpBB2 because I'm aware that the members got very used to their "living room". So, if you give this board style a go and you can't get used to it you can always switch to the twoism-ripplex theme in your UCP (Image USER CONTROL PANEL - at the top). It's not the same but at least the colour scheme is translated to this layout.

New features
  • Embedding of video & audio
  • Optional mobile template (link to the bottom next to Image.
  • Similar topic display at the bottom of topics

Changes to the team
  • As of today we welcome Mexicola to the moderator team! This should've happened a year ago already but the old buggy forum software didn't allow that to happen.
  • Sadly we also wave thedisavowed and The Other goodbye as they have moved on and do not visit twoism.org frequently enough to monitor the forum.

Still have questions? There is always the ImageFAQ on top of the forum and of course you can drop your questions in this topic.

Wait until they find all the little gizmos... 8)

If you'll excuse me, I'd very much like to propose a toast to Ae and Subset for the superhuman, Trojan-like effort they've put into this.

Congrats on the new design.

(RIP old twoism design)

I'm very much so liking the embedding feature, confused a little bit about the "friend/foe" thing (and whether or not that's something someone chose or some sort of default feature), confused about the "post review" thing that makes me feel a bit like I'm encountering an edit conflict on wikipedia or something, but altogether I enjoy the minimalism of the new design.

Ripplex looks good and just about the only issue I can think of visually is it DOES look a bit like every post is a quote because of the boxes they are housed in. Nothing major and maybe others will prefer that. Anyways, good job, everyone who took part. Thanks to Robin for maintaining this board for ten years. :)
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

I really like the small touches here and there.

Like the fact that the background at the sides is a tiled, textured image rather than flat grey (not on ripplex, the default). Very easy on the eyes.

Don't even know what to say. Nice! I prefer the Ripplex theme - the default one is a bit too bright for me. I hope this might up the activity a bit. I was hoping this would come with another BOC thing inside but I didn't get my hopes up too high so I'm still mentally stable. haha

Great job, really. Thanks guys.

There is the Twoism Skype since 2011. Cupz and myself could add whoever wants to join.

I don't know what happened to the IRC, if it still exists or whatnot.

I also don't know if Gabbly still exists but if it does you can get a chat over the site for anyone browsing. As for a chat room hosted here, that would be cool but every time it has been brought up in the past I've seen the community give a very polarizing response - that's completely disregarding the technical aspect. It'd be cool, but I don't know if it'd be something Robin and co. would want to implement.
