The project is on hold for the moment. Although this project was carefully prepared I totally overlooked the fact that the release can't be printed on one vinyl.

Yup, the rumors are true - there is a small, but real chance that OoT6 will be pressed on vinyl! This totally depends on the amount of interested minds we are able to find out there, so we need your honest views and your commitment to make this happen.

By using the funding service of Qrates there is an opportunity to press 100 or 300 copies for a surprisingly reasonable price. Qrates is a crowd funding website specifically geared towards the self-release of vinyl records which will only happen if the target is reached.

Before even starting to think about this I'd want to see how many out there are interested in buying copies. The feasibility of this project entirely depends on this, so please fill in the poll as if you really were to buy it.

The poll allows 2 votes per person! Please vote how many you want depending on the final amount. I can image one would buy more copies if it ends up the be €7,50 instead of €15,00. This poll will end shortly after the release of OoT6 so those who don’t want to “order” a copy unheard, should wait a bit.

Promote as much as you can at your local record store, Facebook, Twitter or even become a reseller yourself! Remember, YOUR chance to own OoT6 on beautiful vinyl depends on OUR ability to move enough copies.

The price of the vinyl will be approx.
  • €15.00* / $16,88* (100 pressed) no test pressing
  • €7,50.- * / $8.44* (300 pressed) including test pressing

The shipping costs are.
World (Distributed by me via Germany, small trip for me and much cheaper than the Dutch mail)
  • 1 €6,00* / 8,00* (registered mail)
  • 2-3 €6,00* / 9,00* (registered mail)
  • 1-25 €16,90* (insured shipping)
    UK
  • £3.00* (£1.00* for any extra item) (Distributed by Mexicola)

These are the guidelines:
  • Pressing is available from 100 copies (test pressing only available at a 300 copies run)
  • The pressing will start once the desired amount of pre-orders is completed.
  • Length of the funding campaign has a 90 days maximum.
  • If not enough pre-orders were made, the vinyl will not be pressed.

*all prices are with reservation. It might change a little. For the record: this project is non-profit.
**Should the project happen then a special vinyl mastering is needed. More info on this in the next step. If we stick to 100 copies the quality of the final product will be very reliant on the mastering expertness.
*** Qrates currently is preparing a shipping solution service where they can ship the vinyl directly to you. If this is ready in time and cheaper we of course prefer that.

I'd buy 12 copies regardless of the price. A few for friends as well as a back catalog for future fans ;)

I'd buy just one regardless of price, so I said "I would buy 1 copy for €7,50* pp" and "I would buy 1 copy for €15,00* pp".

As I said via email I'd probably throw in whatever I could (I have no need for multiple physical copies so I'd probably just donate) but I'm surprised this was announced on the forum while we still have no release of OOT6 at the moment. Don't we want people to hear it before trying to have it distributed on vinyl?

I think this idea is really, really cool and I'd love to see it come to fruition. I'd buy 10 copies at any price within the range given above, and that's a conservative estimate.

And thanks aesthetics for your exemplary efforts throughout this process. I really do appreciate it tremendously, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this very special endeavor, let alone this album.

I get that - that's not exactly what I meant. I'm not looking to 'pre-order' a copy if I donate anyways. I'm just surprised that the poll comes out at this point in the gestation of the record.

I would hope that anyone wanting to buy x cop(ies) would know to wait period.

But if someone strictly out of principle already wants to buy ten copies of it for any given price listed then I won't criticize them for it. I just can't help but think of all the other volumes of OOT when it comes to vinyl pressings.

Ae would you like me to get in touch with a couple of local (non-chain) record stores in London nearer the release? I'd be happy to email them to see what they'd think, obviously I'd mention how well regarded past volumes have been and the role the site played in the TH release campaign.

It is just an idea.

I'll answer that, do it!

Seriously guys, while this is being done 'at cost' for you guys, the more we shift the cheaper the price for everyone. Don't recall the breakpoints right know, but the price crashes if we hit the next target. Think its 500? Could be wrong.

Ae listed the two minimum options, but if this things flies, the better for all of us.

Seriously, go make this thing viral. Lets demonstrate what Twoism can do COLLECTIVELY! ;-)

I would buy one regardless of the price. As long as it's not $500. I would, however, pay $500 for the vinyl and a date with Fredd-E so maybe we can start auctioning off Twoism members with the vinyl if it's costly...

Hey Ae, when you had the picture of the vinyl here it looked like you'd put the track ordering down. We end with Polar Sky, no? Looks like Hiflier or Sadsic opening the record.

Is it possible we can get a chronological track listing assuming that's final?
