Boots are pprreettttyy much dry by this point, hehe. I think I'll manage! Did about 2 hours worth of hairdrying to em yesterday.

@AB, I've stayed at a bed and breakfast, so in about an hour our two the journey begins. Let's see how long I last!

Be well, everyone! These meetups have been rad.

Incidentally, anyone wake up with midge bites this morning? Two on my head, one on my wrist and another on my side/hip.

Little gits...

alright guys,

thanks to everyone for coming along. i'm glad we did this.

i'd like to particularly thank mexi for organising the dorset meetups which inspired this event.

since she told me she was lurking earlier, thanks also to my girlfriend roisin for being designated driver and whisky-provider in chief.

and finally, special special thanks to vballs for letting us crash his stay at The Fank, which was beautiful and amazing and protected us from the elements and just made the trip that bit more special.

good luck to adecentman who this morning started walking the west highland way! i hope it blows your mind. ;)

cheers all!

m

I'm jealous of you guys! My mother in law will be visiting the UK in a few weeks, she'll be hitting up Edinburgh briefly. One of these years, I'll be the one to make it out there.

sounds like you did pretty well fending them off, considering you were outside all night. i had a bonfire last night (all alone :() and have about two dozen mosquito bites to show for it

Yeah not too bad. Found a few more this morning. Think I have about ten altogether but that's better than normal.

Last time I went, I came back with 60.

Thanks techboy for organising this event, what a venu, think I'm in love with the place, I'll definitely return one day. Also you and Roisin made every one breakfast and stuff :-)

I'm off on holiday again tomorrow for a week but if I get time I'll post some pic maybe tonight... if they are any good haha.

At both meetups we had plenty of room to the sides in our group photos and yet we stood as though cameras are capable of taking photos in a 1:1 aspect ratio only. I have no idea why I didn't just move the two-four meters to the side both times that would have provided evidence that more than just the detached, hovering upper half of my face attended these meets.

For whatever reason, the "taller people in back" protocol becomes invalid if Mark is standing in front of you.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

Firstly, great photos ! Seems like, Scotland is the place to visit, misty mountains, a shack in the middle of nowhere, it's like a place from my dream, but also glad I didn't make it, because it's seems like a serious trip and crazy how I was unprepared

The night of the main event was very rainy and windy, no good for a campfire at all, so this was our venue.

Road to Mallaig, gotta be one of the best drives in mainland Britain.

I love this one, see if you can spot the cottage. Apparently Inverie is the most remote Village in mainland Britain and has the most remote pub. looking at this id say we probably had the most remote house party in mainland Britain that night haha :)

Bloody hell, those are some lovely snaps. Seeing some Deer in the wild like that must've been a sight. Absolutely gutted I missed out, but I am really glad you all had a great time, the cottage looks to have been a sterling suggestion, nice one Jon :)

I forgot I took some time lapse videos after you all left. I just put them together, so here it is for what it's worth. I remember it was a little depressing and lonely after everyone left, pissing around with my camera and drinking a beer cheered me up.
