So this was a thing at one point, I think:
http://www.last.fm/music/Boards+of+Cana ... anna+Siren

I don't believe anyone ever came to a conclusion about this little oddity, though I've got a couple of observations that I haven't seen anyone else mention before. First off, the album artwork is an edit of this picture of the road leading up to Pine Gap in Australia:

This place has got quite the reputation behind it, apparently it's pretty much the Australian Area 51. Probably familiar to people in Australia, but I hadn't heard of it until I attempted a reverse google image search on the supposed Pollyanna Siren album art.

Anyways, my second bit of observation is on the track itself. It sounds like a horrible, screechy mess, if this is a proper unreleased track then the reason why it wasn't released seems pretty obvious. However, playing the song at half speed (with the pitch altered to match) made it sound much closer to something BoC would have actually made. Almost in line with a very, very early version of Olson or something like that. I think this might be the way it was meant to be played.

At half speed, it also lasts pretty much the same length as Trillions from Closes Vol. 1. Probably seeing connections that aren't there, but I like to believe that I'm onto something.

Here's a rip of the MP3 that was on the original last.fm page, analyze it as you wish:

If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?

I think that was already posted a long time ago on twoism, none the less imma go with fake, The brothers don't only do music they like to do video and image related art.

The cover of that album is just poorly photoshopped, the quality of the text and its angle + the slightly more greyed area on top of where the original writting was just shows me how poorly this was done.

As for the audio track, its meh. could be better.

Heres the picture of a better quality, on a russian website http://actionlist.ru/img/albums/3328/283323704.jpg

Ah, must've somehow missed that. Still, I don't think anyone brought up the points that I brought up. Someone should expand the "Dubious Tracks" section of BoCPages to include this.

How much do you wanna bet that Pine Gap is where all the copies of Hooper Bay ended up?

Wait a second...

This looks a lot like the giant radome they used for the first trans-atlantic television broadcast, in Pleumeur-Boudou.

Image

I've been to Pleumeur and it's pretty darn awesome looking at it from the inside.

According to Wikipedia:

Pine Gap is the commonly used name for a satellite tracking station approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) south-west of the town of Alice Springs, Northern Territory in the centre of Australia which is operated by both Australia and the United States. Since 1988, it has been officially called the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap; previously, it was known as Joint Defence Space Research Facility
.

The radome also has a twin in Maine, but it looks like that's kept behind fences...

Unless I'm off, we pieced this together a couple of years ago about Sandrail: bailenantrodach posted it Aug-ish 2011 to last.fm, then a year or two later posted the high res HI logo to Hell Interface's last.fm pix (and that's the only connection to the separate HI fakes that I know of). bailenantrodach's name seems to refer to the Gaelic name for Temple. I'm not sure what the significance is there beyond the obvious. As for the song itself, my take on it is here. Call me nuts but I actually like it.

My suspicion, and this is only my suspicion: it's another one of their songs that started out idea-wise as a simple melody/sound (and usually gets developed to some degree into a short track), it was meant as part of an album that never happened, and the bros posted it just like they used to post snippets/hints of the early albums on their site.

Lemme know if you find more to the story. Some MDG help would be great actually, I just don't personally want to pull him away from whatever he's doing just for some wild suspicion I have. I probably owe some short eating at this point regardless, and I will.

not sure it's worth their time, but in case anyone wants a look the track posting is here and another copy of the track is here, that should wrap up all the info
