It came with a couple of glow in the dark Warp stickers, both the same but different colours. On the back of the stickers it lists Warps major album releases of 2015 and on the front its just the Warp logo.

Not bothered about the stickers so much haha, more BoC stuff would have been awesome even if just a sticker, im interested to see if everyone got the same.

I love the poster though, a bit expensive but great item in my opinion :) I love the TH imagery.

EDIT: Actually I just realised, werent they supposed to be individually "Hand numbered"? Im not seeing anything of the sort on mine.

In regards to the number, check the back corner. A bit unconventional, but its there.

Ahh yeah I found it now thanks, easy to miss, written in light pencil, tiny writing in the corner.

There always seems to be a permanent drought in the BOC territory. So when a few life giving nimbus clouds are sighted in the distance, things are bound to go a bit haywire.

I can't believe that we were all honest we wouldn't say we were dissapointed. Seemed a bit weird it being limited for 100 people who sit around their smartphones every second of the day. Just not in the spirit of Christmas is it?

I'm still kinda blown away at those that think this is the band's doing. warp owns the rights to the material. boc will get their contractual cut as agreed on [im sure there is a contract regarding materials].
im willing to suggest warp came up with the idea, and contacted the band to get the okay. [maybe they don't have to]

regardless, no reason get all weird. you didt HAVE to buy the poster. warp IS a business. they DO have bills, staff to pay.

try not to lose sleep over the advent calendar...they didn't have to do anything to begin with. [warp that is]

now you can go back to pining over the next release. :/

Even still, why does it matter whose doing it is? They get paid. Those who bought the poster ostensibly made a donation to some degree and I doubt they care if they did buy the poster.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

I'd guess by now BOC's contracts with Warp ensure that they have a say (or at least an agreement) in anything that is released under their name, and that's if it hasn't always been that way. Of all the labels out there, Warp seems like one that would offer their artists pretty much full creative control over their output, which is one of the reasons why they've lasted this long as a label. Seeing how the vast majority of Warp artists never leave the label, I'd imagine they're taken care of financially as well.

I'd agree with the most likely scenario being that Warp/Bleep came up with the idea and the band gave the ok. TH was a very successful release, and I'd imagine BOC aren't hard up for cash at the moment. Neither is Tool for that matter (they're worth about 40 mil each and Danny Carey drives a Lamborghini), but as Rodheh pointed out they sell things from time to time in very limited release to their fans for a tidy sum. I personally don't see anything wrong with that, although I won't be buying a recycled shirt blanket anytime soon. But if it makes someone else happy, that's great.

Back to BOC, it's a very nice poster, and was sold directly to the fanbase through bleep, which is a lot cooler than buying a beat up older release poster for $100+ on Ebay from a stranger trying to make a buck. Do a search for "Boards of Canada poster" on there right now, and you'll find the TH record store posters on there for $50-$70, which don't seem to be in short supply and were given away for free originally. Looking at it from that perspective BOC/Warp/Bleep did us a favor with this release.

BTW, I'm selling my Advent Calendar poster for $350 if anyone's interested.. Kidding, kidding..

BOC spent a lot of money to create a great album like TH, they used exclusive and decrepit synths, travelled around the world just to record special sounds and take specific photos... Just for us, guys.. so.. Exclusive music needs exclusive and expensive intruments and much time, probably the're really preparing something special for us...
Besides, WARP and Bleep are great, always offering quality music and merchandise, i'm proud to support them
It is the Self, the individual Mind, that contains immortality and ultimate truth.
Now I know where the Self is. It's in our own minds. It's a form of human energy. Our atoms are six billion years old. We've got six billion years of memory in our minds.

Time you split the money between production costs, the band, the label, bleep, and maybe the person who designed the image, I doubt anyone made much from this poster.

I have a nine inch nails poster that is about 4 feet tall and 2.5 wide with original artwork as a background and lyrics to ALL the songs on the album printed in little clusters all over. Id pay 60$ for that poster, but this one was small and nothing too special. I definitely dont think the brothers were like "hey fuck our fans, lets start gouging money outta them". Im almost positive bleep knew people would pay for it, because we love limited shit these days, and went for a guarantee.

I want sincerely say to people who loosing their minds over this topic, that it's not worth it, so anyway and I'm actually very serious now,
So if this was a cash grabbing, it would wipe off all the expectations i build with BOC, this is not funny at all,

Hah yeah, it's the gift that keeps on giving.

(I do hope there's a robust meta-discussion about why this thread isn't being charged for and how it's disgusting, or something).
