DaveJ wrote:*** Hey guys, the debut 'Any Colour You Like' album is here, titled 'New Clear Dawn'***

I self released it on Bandcamp as my job just finished today and money is beyond tight, so for the first time, I've had to set a price for the album, 7euros, I hope you think that's fair, and trust me a lot of work and love went into this one, and a large number of tracks were scrapped to make it the best I possibly could. If you like what you hear, donations are so very welcome, or maybe if you can't afford it, let me know and I'll see what I can do if you help spread the word.

I hope you enjoy my new project! Lots of love!

That link is dead. Find the album here: https://eyesixrecords.bandcamp.com/album/new-clear-dawn

I wanted to allow DaveJ to post the replacement links to this album himself in the album's official thread for organizational reasons when people are running searches, and of coarse, because it's his album and I don't want to take liberties in it's official thread no matter how small. But here, I'm assuming it would be helpful to give him a hand with it.

Pretty good album btw.

WARNING: DANCE MUSIC
I've made a special mix of 14 recent tracks especially for Hogmanay (New Year's Eve to the rest of the world). Time to put aside the subtle pleasures of ambient beats and get your head down with some Wonky House, Dubby Techno, Cosmic Throb and Space Disco! If you need some new beats to get you into the new year, click below for the MotorRad 2015 Annual Report.

Enjoy! Happy 2016

aw man I can't get the dance music it says there are licensing restrictions where I live. "US Rules:
- Maximum 4 tracks by an artist (and max 3 consecutively)
- Maximum 3 tracks from an album (and max 2 consecutively)" Bitches.

Awesome video Elexen.

This is the first proper track I've finished in two years. Working and loving full time puts a crimp in that creative thing. But I got the dominion 1 and prophet 6 and wanted to have them in a track so did this track this last week. The Dominion is on bass the Prophet is doing some plucky stabs and space sounds. The track is way more synth/Dance that I want to do but that is what seems to come out of me more these days. So be it. Though I did just pick up Reaktor 6 and am looking forward to some of the modular blocks they have.

Sorry Machinea, Mixcloud did say something when I posted the mix about it not being available in USA. Guess US folk might think twice before making a whole mix using only one's own tracks. :)

That was pretty good. Well done. You have a nice voice by the way. I think it needs some mastering though. Unless you intentionally left it that way. The relation in volume from one sound to the other is fine, but the overall volume needs to come down as it's being cut off at the limit creating a really rough sound at those parts that go over the cut off. I can't remember what that's called for some reason... Can't think very well today, sorry.

Anyways, it's a nice song.

I must ask if you've listened to Canyon Country before? They only have one album. It's called There's a Forest in the Fire. If you haven't heard it before I strongly recommend a listen. It's an absolutely fantastic album and I think it would be right up your alley.

I've just started recording my own music (the songs on the SoundCloud are the only completed tracks I've finished) and I record / mix / play everything through a mid-range quality USB microphone into GarageBand ... it's a learning process, for sure, and I've recently stopped GB from normalizing my exports because I felt normalizing dimmed the emotional quality of the instruments and lowered the overall volume (you can hear tracks that are normalized in the first few I posted ... I stopped normalizing with "Attention Span").

I like the lo-fi sound and want to implement that to some degree, but sometimes the mix comes out sounding irritatingly buzzy and/or fuzzy.

Like I said, I have a ways to go with self-recording.

But thanks, dude! Appreciate it big time.

And it's funny you'd mention Canyon Country, 'cause I was trying to find that album (for some reason) recently.
I'm back on the hunt, now.

My advice would be to drastically lower the mic input volume to really low, then after it's recorded you can always turn the recording's volume up at that point in your DAW. If you're using good software and a good mic (USB mics are great, so not really any worries there), you won't lose quality and it will sound much better. Hope that helps.

Also, go get Canyon Country here: https://attacknine.bandcamp.com/album/theres-a-forest-in-the-fire

That's right, it's released by Attacknine, the same guys involved with Freescha and Casino vs Japan! I love Attacknine!

I'll keep this in mind for the future, and good call ... loving this Canyon Country album.

Some really good stuff in there. Left a few comments and ended up being embarrassed when I saw that I never clicked that follow button until just noticing now. Sorry 'bout that. I've always enjoyed the stuff I've heard that you let us hear. Hopefully I'll be able to keep updated much better now.

Hey, that link doesn't work. I can't seem to find my way there from your bandcamp page either. I can only see your album Vestiges. Is it a track on that album? If so, which one? Regardless, I'll give this album a listen when I get some time. As of right now, I'm off to bed. I'll leave the page open in my browser so I don't forget to listen.
