omg please be something, anything....

Under no other circumstance would I be so super hyped to see a website go down. I realize it's highly likely it isn't some sort of site overhaul or major announcement and that it just happens to be down by no design of their own, but I will say I check their site on the regular and this is the first time I can remember it being down since TH.
I should say, first time being down since vinyl repress. Still, over 2 years. Still naively excited over what's probably nothing but could be something???

There is a reason this seasoned user is named "Techboy". As much as I want this to immediately lead to a new website of sorts, I'm trusting that he knows a lot more than me in this matter. So I'm keeping my expectations for a changed site low for now. But even low expectations of something new happening soon with BoC has me pretty excited, lol.

It would be really cool if they got that atomless guy to make something new for a new site. I absolutely love that old shockwave site. I spent sooooo much time on it back in high school. Good grief, that was over a decade ago! I feel old... YOU DIDN'T WARN ME, MEXICOLA!!! YOU DIDN'T WARN ME GETTING OLD WOULD COME SO FAST!!!

I'd say there is a chance of something happening seeing as mdg did mention a new website a few months ago. Fingers crossed, hope my F5 key doesn't die on me. Please be something!

I'm a web developer. It is definitely well within the realm of possibilities that 'they' pulled down the site to put up a new/updated one. I do this all the time. When it's a static site like this, taking it down temporarily really isn't unheard of...

JUST SAYIN :)

You raise my expectations, sir. They are at medium now. Hard to gauge my excitement though, based on how excited I was from day 1 of the "black box" right up to it's removal. And that took years, lol.

My heart's a-flutterin', boys and girls.

I love being a part of a community that is committed to the point of threads like this being possible.

I mean, I'm not trying to fuel the hype train, but I had to point out that it is possible...

It's so funny how willing BoC fans are to raise their expectations to absurd levels over the smallest of changes in the status quo. Would be cool if this was something, not going to get myself worked up over it yet though.

Possibly the only time BOC and Status Quo will be linked.

Down Down Deeper and Down the Spiral?

BOC'n All Over The World?

Three Chords In My Mind?

Funny you should say that mex, I always thought the main melody in Buckie High sounded a bit like the guitar riff in Quo's "Pictures of Matchstick Men"

I must say the website has been crashed for some time now, you would expect it to be up and running again by now.
So is it a portent...

I don't think anyone is fanatical about it yet but there are some raised eyebrows. To me, the longer it's down the better. Seems more likely it'd be a significant website overhaul or at least some sort of change, which to be fair IS worth being excited about when you go through several year stretches without hearing a peep from these dudes.

Well if there is some problem whether it be hardware or software related, it's either a real bastard of a problem with no decent disaster recovery solution in place or it simply isn't that urgent to get it back online. I suppose all it does really is point people to warp. It's not the end for them or anyone if it's down for a while.

On the other hand, it could come back online completely over hauled with.....why not, LIVE SHOW DATES!!! :-D

COMPLETE SPECULATION AHEAD!

2 things based on what I know about the site:
1. It is just a simple static html/css/javascript based site, not many moving parts (html/css/js in this capacity cannot cause a server to go down like this)
2. It is hosted on Amazon AWS, which has very very good uptime (see here http://status.aws.amazon.com/)

Again, this is just my speculation. I feel like hype is applicable.

I am wondering if a Bowie remix is forthcoming at some point. We never did get the Bowie track was supposedly influenced by BoC and I imagine there are going to be some amazing remixes of tracks from Blackstar.

I'd settle for a new t-shirt color though. How about purple?

It might could just be the announcement about the Nevermen remix if it really is a site update.

It could also be a new double album of outtakes from the last 20 years with ultra deluxe triple gate-fold vinyl packaging made out of reclaimed wood pulp from the old hexagon sun studio space in that missile silo...

Could be their way of quitting. All farewells should be sudden.

Ooooooh, feel the speculation. It's tangible.

Maybe they are announcing that they will now host a daycare for children in the hexagon sun studio's. Music has the right to children ya' know.

Definitely probably maybe chances-have-it this one (w/ a holographic sticker pack + Geogaddi all-over print t-shirt + Boards of Canada surprise-headlining Bonnaroo).
