One of the stories involved a measurement of time in which if an angel flew past a granite block roughly one mile in diameter once every ten years, giving it the lightest of touches with its wings, this measurement of time would be how long it would take for the solid granite block to erode completely to dust as a result.
When mdg says 'at some point' I am often reminded of this story.
I was told a similar story in Sunday school, but mine involved a dove carrying a single grain of sand across the infinite void to Heaven and returning back again; bringing the whole Earth to paradise one grain of sand at a time.
