05/22 is a very juicy number in their little ARG. 5x22=110 and all.

Whole thing reminds me of how Geogaddi/You Could Feel the Sky got funked up on Soundcloud to hint at the Mr. Mistake vinyl release date.

Don't fall for it this time

Did that genuinely happen?

I can't recall.

Yes, a few months before the Mr. Mistake vinyl was announced for 7/21, Geogaddi was listed with a 2007 release year, with an Aphex Twin song replacing track 21

The hand-wavey "it's just a bug" people are cute as hell

They did the same thing on purpose last year on Soundcloud

110 (5x22) days between 12/8/16 and 3/28/17

Peacock Tail posted at 2:25pm with a logo first used 5/22/56

522
225

Wake up sheeple

From Reddit:
It looks like 1969 was interpreted as a date, and Spotify stores dates as the number of days since 1900.
If you go to this website and calculate the number of days between 1899-12-31(Default date) and 1905-05-22, you'll get 1968 days, which I'm calling close enough.
Someone should write the song "`); DROP TABLE songs; --" and see what happens.

This has way more sense for this particular case with that specific syntax than a hidden message. But I hope I'm wrong.

Guessing it's a bug still

From reddit

"A similar thing happened with Bibio's latest album. The first track (actual title "9:13") was incorrectly titled "1899-12-30" across a few different outlets. Apparently that's the default date in a SQL database, or something - not sure if there's any relevance? Anyway, some folks contacted Warp and it was fixed. Seems like this is pretty much the same thing."

That's me! Here is my initial post.

It appears to have been corrected across all services now, although many outlets still display 9:13 as 09:13, by default. It must be something to do with how the number layout is interpreted as a time in these databases. Can anyone think of similar track titles so we can see if Spotify is screwing those up too?

What?

Also, I tweeted Warp and BOC and if MDG isn't dead he's probably seen it, so I'm sure they're aware.

Good God... It ties into the epoch too, how deep does this rabbit hole GO? ;)

Solid reasoning for an otherwise random looking date, I'm sold. And yes that makes me shudder at their coding a bit!

The really funny thing is, counting days since the beginning of the ARG (6/6/16) is likely to be key in the end.

I like the way that they think
