"Societas" can also be connected to the idea of secret societies (Bilderberg group, inter alia), and themes such as occultism, masonism, etc. A title that is very Geoggaddyesque.

And the "X" in "Societas X" can mean a society that has no name or that it is secret. A society that wants to hide who they are and what they do. A society that is partly responsible for the enrironmental problems cosechados (harvested) and Tommorow's Harvest.

"X" does not refer to the Roman number. BoC doesn't need to go back to WARP's 10th anniversary. They have enough new material. Besides, WARP has listed them on top positions in the advertising in cases in which artists weren't listed by alphabetical order. BoC has relevant material to offer.

Please guys, record whatever they present. I won't be able to listen to it live (I am posting this whith my father in law walking by, LOL).

this was exactly what I was thinking, that or a mix of when they had more than one member like maybe during the wheeltower days
And don’t worry, i will be recording it to my reel to reel then transferring to DAT then Sony Soundforge for astering!

The wait is so painful. We've endured six years, but now I can't even stand a couple hours.

Let's hope this'll be sweet....

We're getting there, guys. Not much longer. I've got my BoC shirt on! I'm ready to see what goes down, although I grow increasingly nervous in anticipation.

This is what I was hoping for from the beginning. A psychedelic mix much like A is to B as B is to C, composed of their own material or someone elses. The 'society' aspect has led me to believe it would be a mix of other other musicians in the community, as does the pic of Cement Gravel Rock. Wrap all that in the context of their interest in cults and what have you.

One thing is certain, they have an interesting taste in music so I am sure the mix will be interesting either way.

Less than four hours!

How long is BOCs stream, 3 hours? That’s an awfully long time to play all-new material. More likely it’ going to be a cultivated mix of their favorite songs/musical influences with some new remixes thrown in? While I would love new material, I highly doubt that’s what it’ll be. (Hope I’m wrong.)
I remember witnessing the last great cataclysm.

Well, that’s a little more conducive for new material at least. I’m ready and waiting.

I don't know whether I'm just too big of a fan, but my stomach seems to have that weird feeling in it, like when it "drops" when you start to go down a rollercoaster. Holy hell. It is really sinking in that today is the day we've been waiting a fair portion of our lives for.

Whatever happens, there will be a portion of the fan base who is wholly satisfied, some who will be left wanting more, and some who will be incredibly disappointed or underwhelmed. I urge you to consider the notion that this event (a sign of life at the least) could potentially mean that a new album may not be as far away as one may think.

It's tough to be a BoC fan, and cheers to everyone here that has stuck out this incredibly long waiting period. We fans have collectively become that underground society that the title alludes to, something like a brotherhood. Will that brotherhood be joining a metaphorical feast together, with the tracks being what we consume? Or will we merely be feasting on morsels and scraps (the possibility that it is just music they listen to and not their original music)? Either way, at the very least, we've all got our tickets for this extravegent ball, and the only thing left to do is be in attendance, present and accounted for. Happy listening.

I would even settle for a new EP consisting of TH b-sides and maybe some new remixes. 6 years is a long time.

Well written, Mozart. Regardless of the content we'll feast upon in ~4 hours, let's all enjoy ourselves and be happy to hear from the brothers after all these years!

Thought I'd check in to voice my excitement for this evening. Regardless of what it is it's gonna be good, and it's always nice to see the community come out in force buzzing when BoC finally creep out of the woodwork.
