That really helped me to make more sense of the voices. How nuts that a whacky Midwest bible group would make a HEXAGONAL flexi-disc, and that their promotion of it is so creepy. It just begs for BOC to do something with it. Too perfect.

I just wish I could see the source material in its entirety now. Reminds me of these creepy pamphlets that were always scattered in places like the bubble-gum machines at Wegmans back when I lived in Syracuse, NY. I had a whole shoebox full of those things, and friend would give them to me if they stumbled up them (they all knew how much I loved them). Creepy Evangelical Fucks. God bless 'em.

Oh yeah, they were from Chick Publications. Incidentally produced in Jacksonville FL, which is where I was severely bullied in middle school by hypocritical idiot Christian kids. I used to point out to them that I was pretty sure that Jesus fellow they were so crazy about didn't support violence as they would beat me up all the time. Worst three years of my life. (All got so much better for me when we moved to a much more progressive town elsewhere.)

It seems you can change YouTube video titles after the fact, I don't see any evidence he didn't just rename this video to make it look like it's connected.

Good point. I'm more convinced by the other video (the slime mold source) being posted so soon after the first VHS surfaced, but certainly won't rule out that it's just a clever fan. Nothing's out of the question at this point, I guess!

It's really better to listen to it slow-down versions and look at the text, so I’ve put everything, include another guessing into one notion page. Feels weird sharing a notion page here, never seen anyone else do it, but it’s super handy and you dont need to use notion to access.

I made my own transcription about a week ago, that I have revised like 15 times. I was super convinced there were DTMF tones in this, as those loud "glitch" sounds start towards the end of the narration, and continue into the end - I had counted 11 and I was convinced there was a 1-800 number. After trying a shit ton of numbers I gave up on this, and seeing that the end audio came from a numbers station, which had beeps/tones in it, made me realize I was probably off on the meaning behind this. Nevertheless, here is my transcription. I'm pretty confident in it, no AI or transcription service used, just heavy filtering of the audio and my ears. The words/phrases in bold are the ones I'm still not entirely sure of:

Something interesting I noticed: The narrator seems to say "2.95" like "Two-Nine-Five". Also, I am torn between whether it says "spoken word" or "focus word" and I'm actually leaning towards the latter now. Another interesting connection, the inclusion of "New Light" seems to me to be related to David Koresh's doctrine of the same name, that was the start of the end for his sect of Branch Davidians. From the Association of Religion Data Archives:

"Less than ten years after joining the Branch Davidians, Koresh became their leader and began to teach his own interpretation of scripture, particularly regarding the Book of Revelation. Some of his teachings became controversial, even among his own followers. Some parted ways with the group in disagreement. One particular controversial teaching was the New Light doctrine, which described Koresh as being tasked with creating a new lineage of children of God. To start this lineage, Koresh began taking on the role of "spiritual husband" to all of the female Branch Davidians for the purpose of fathering offspring with them. David Koresh/Branch Davidians may be one of the most common themes in BoC's music. Connecting the Moody Bible Institute to Koresh seems to be a pretty interesting statement.

I actually heard "eye of the hawk" for a while too, so thats interesting, but I'm definitely leaning towards "guide the heart" as that fits the rest of the clip. Being honest, it sounds like "-uide the heart", I can't really hear the g consonant. My reasoning behind a lot of this, and my confidence in it, is that it all makes pretty clear sense, and reads just like an ad-read. Aside from a couple phrases that seem out of character for an ad read (run the math - which I'm also not very sure of, voices and signals, sounds/found in the television), the advertisement is pretty coherent. Very BoC to take something existing and insert/change a few words to say something different. The voice changes formant throughout, so it could also be a combination of a couple ads - I hear the first audible change during "And with your first issue, you'll receive the exclusive 'flexi-hexi-disc'".
If you heavily high-pass the audio so the background music is less intense, it's actually easy to hear everything, except a few phrases that dip into noise or tape dropouts. I also would not trust voice isolation as this voice has hardly any frequencies left to strip away. High passing makes sense as there's no low end frequency content in the voice. But I digress, at a certain point pareidolia is going to cause biases from person to person.

I tried it, nothing haha. I really hoped it was a phone digit puzzle, but I highly doubt it now, and I don't really think there's anything in this other than an announcement of hexagonal flexi discs that will probably show up in stores. Who knows, maybe that will be the second part to this and there will be something to listen closely to on the flexis.
