Speaking of cults (and as a member of one right here amongst you, my dear brothers and sisters) I've been doing a deep dive into the WARC/WARE transmissions from the WARP playlists, after learning that the recently released NTS playlist which dropped the same day the tapes started showing up https://www.nts.live/shows/your-specialist-subject-ii/episodes/your-specialist-subject-ii-hexagon-sun-w-jakob-drozd-5th-april-2026 was created by a DJ associated with an American college radio station WARC https://www.warcmeadville.com/. Coincidence? Maybe. But then I started looking at WARE as the call numbers for a radio station https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WARE and discovered that "WARE is one of three stations in the United States where the call sign spells out the name of the city of license. The other stations are WACO-FM in Waco, Texas, and WISE-FM in Wise, Virginia (a satellite of WVTF)." So I went and explored WACO-FM and it is located in the community of Moody... which immediately made me think of the Moody Bible Institute in the tape. Again, coincidence? I think not.

Thinking about the imagery in the VHS, I think the brothers are planning another radio transmission. But from where or when I don't know. Something just occurred to me, might be nothing. So the ideal scenario for us is a new album + the BOCset, and I just realized the graphic on the video and posters - it's a hexagon surrounded by 6 hexagons. I wonder if each of these hexagons will slowly become filled out somehow, with the new album being the last one in the middle.

My theory so far is that this is going to be more than one release and probably heavily focused on old material. My theory is completely subject to change as new evidence comes out but so far I'm basing it on:

1. The Bible passage referenced in the VHS about sorting the wheat from the chaff seems like it could be reasonably interpreted as an analogy for them sorting through old recordings.

2. It's been 13 years since they've released anything and sorting the old stuff is a massive undertaking.

3. The VHS and the Soho posters seem to be referencing specific tropes from BoCs history. Cults and religion on the VHS and innocent childhood vibes mixed with eerieness on MHtRtC.

It seems to be pointing towards them going back into their past. It may be a new release, it may be old stuff released for the first time or it may be both.

Exciting times either way.

To add to my post above, I also think there's a solid chance that the tracks still not identified on the Societas X Tape could be old BoC stuff and it was a preview of sorts for this upcoming release.

The person who did the NTS mix has come forward and said their mix was nothing to do with the video or any upcoming release, so I don't think it's related.

As for why the posters are appearing in Soho, lots of marketing types round there, innit. I mean, no, it is a bit surprising they're not in more places, remember what they did with Aphex logos when Syro came out. But it's not surprising that they are, at least, there.

I feel there is some intention in the situation that has now arisen on the few boards and forums. Confusion, fakes calling and extensive weird suggestions and theories. I can’t help but thinking that that is connected to the world we know now. A world where confusion is now almost a leading state of mind with AI on our doorstep, doomscrolling through mindless crap, influencers, collective decimation of attention span and wars in Europe and the Middle East.
I hope BoC comes with a album that both acts as a mirror and as a call to return to our source.

For me, Finnegan Tui’s song Old One and especially the first chorus inspires me to try and do so.

This sounds like a reasonable take tbh - a retrospective compilation/set, graphics hinting at outtakes/mashups from all these epochs.

Both promo events so far (VHS tape and cinema style poster) are leaning more towards film than music.

I thought of the same thing earlier this morning, I saw the seven total hexagons and thought, will each one be a new release? or filled in like you suggested

Not to talk more about the posters but... after a day, as somebody who loves them, I am beginning to see value in skepticism for them. The main argument I've seen around for their authenticity is the cost, their high production value, and timing that we are currently in search of anything that seems like the next sign. But as somebody in art college at the moment, I do believe people would be willing to pay the money for this. I can very much imagine the possibility of the artworks being made already prior to th tapes by a local artist that is a fan. I can imagine this because, though I find it believable that BOC would be creating a trail connected by the 7 hexagons, after the tapes that wouldn't be that hard to use it again. Also because they are so far unconnected from the tape in every element other than the hexagons which are easy to recreate. They are also a dead end, not that they cant but its fishy. Also being that so far every spot they have been found is in soho, it would make sense that a local artist wouldn't want to travel too far to do this. I have other suspicious too but I don't want to write too much here. Whoever made them I think did a great job, and if it turns out not being BOC they are making cool work.
