I posted this topic to have a separate place for thoughts and ideas on the promo posters that have showed up in the UK and US. Perhaps we can construct a shared perspective.

Overall, they look pretty dark. All with children on them, one with a parental figure and one with a dark figure looming in the low-left corner. All children lack iris and pupils ('white eyes'). The eyes of the parental figure are not shown. Red stains are portrayed on 3 of the posters, 1 directly on the face of an Asian looking girl(?) resembling a smear of blood. 2 Posters show both eyes, 2 posters are close-ups showing 1 eye. The none close-ups show other figures. Therefore it is unclear if the close-ups hide other figures present with the child. In all locations the posters have the exact same order. Perhaps this linearity matters?
With the brothers known to be keen on photo material, I wonder if they made these themselves.

My interpretation: I generally get the impression that the posters portray trauma. The eyes symbolise being blind to authority, and possibly soulless in a 'happiness in slavery' kind of way. I can't escape the thought this being BoC last album (ever!) and it being connected to the first Music has a right to children.
In line with the VHS tapes the posters give off a cult-vibe. Perhaps it has to do with the usage of religion as a form of authoritative (eg by government/state, cult) oppression. We live in an era where political leaders abuse their power to wage wars and suppress minorities, often justifying their means through religion. The posters might imply that these traumatized and soulless 'obedience to authority' children are not the faceless ones of the nostalgia driven MHTRTC but the result of state-oppression and ecological disaster signified in the bleak undertones of Tomorrow's Harvest.
Perhaps such a theme is paired with the worrisome impact of AI on children (yet another tool of indoctrination and oppression, also applied in warfare): they are heavily influenced by a soulless algorithm through which authorities fabricate 'truth' and harvest power. Since children are vulnerable and easily influenced it makes sense that detrimental effects are most evident in their case. Also, the children might be victimized by soulless AI generated music that certain platforms use to generate more efficient income, with the obvious consequences for the children of MHTRTC.

Curious about other ideas or impressions. As always, I don't think we can expect a clear comment by the brothers themselves. It wouldn't be fun that way!

I think the choice to include images of children in 2026 is interesting. Is it a stretch to say this is a response, either directly or indirectly, to the Epstein files? Along with the other interpretations you mention here. Childhood is one of the most prominent and consistent themes in their work, these posters seem like a response to the horrors that have been revealed in the past few years. Geogaddi was a relatively subtle acknowledgement of these horrors, these posters seem to indicate a more explicitly vindictive response to the horrors.

I’d like to take a different approach to this. I believe trauma is your friend. I think that governments do their very best to deny you of any trauma. I believe this sets you up to become foolish and vulnerable.

In the last 50 years (pretty much my entire lifetime) it seems it has become very noticeable to deny you of trauma, but to keep you in a state of constant fear from anything you’ve never really experienced, but believe it to be bad if you should experience.

It’s often noted that when you face your fears they’re never really as bad as you think. But fear is the main tool of the government. They feed it to us constantly because if we stopped that fear response they would lose ALL control.

You cannot eliminate risk in life and trying to do so makes no one free and just creates this risk adverse environment.

We saw it in Covid. People listening to absolute ridiculousness. But it was designed not to make any sense. It was designed to be scary.

Wilhelm Reich explains a lot about how sexual oppression leads to authoritarian responses in his book about fascism.

So what if trauma helps us develop the skills to see shit from shinola?

Maybe the posters reflect on children being lied to about something? Children who have no experience?

Their eyes are clouded. It’s often said that the eyes are a window to the soul. Do they have no souls?

I personally believe they represent the children of vaccinated. The recipients of the vaccines may be able to have children, but then those children are the end of their lineage. Fruitless. Soulless. A plan like that would allow at least one generation to be blameless enough not to raise too much suspicion. But then the nightmare truly begins after that.

Just my thoughts on it.

Woah that swerved into a direction I did not expect. Idk what you’re going on about here man. I am interested in your thinking of societal oppression being funded by our governing powers but you’re delving into conspiracy that is very weirdly specific. I believe there are more interesting ideas you can go in that direction.

Have you seen the film Melancholia? I believe that touches on it somewhat. The people that seemed to have their act together didn’t take much too well. Yet those with trauma did. Like lessons learned in a bad trip.

From a shamanistic approach we perhaps choose our lives before we’re born. Just to experience different things? Ultimately we are every living thing. I am you and you are me. Like selecting a character in a computer game. An interactive experience. You’d want as much to happen as possible? Do you believe in soul ecology and reincarnation? I believe I was once an orca whale and I think I am going to return as one.

Yes but there's been Covid since they last did an interview. And now if you question the vaccine narrative you get branded right wing and ridiculed, I doubt they'd want to attract that kind of press on an album launch by suggesting that the vaccines sterlized everyone rofl.

Anyway, there is a clear theme of indoctrination, no matter what side of the aisle you're at. Couldn't come at a better time now that we hear more and more talk about conscripting kids to kill each other over whatever a few grampas are shouting at each other.

I think the posters are brilliant. I'll repeat what I said in the speculation thread in that I hope this means we'll get a more in-your-face and "on the nose" boc this time around, as a juxtaposed equivalent to Tomorrows Harvest extremely subtle, ambient nature. I am now desperately hoping this means we're going to get far more dizzying and intense bad-trip nightmare psychedelic experience stuff at levels we have not seen since at least Geogaddi.
